First time coming here wanted to check out an outdoor apparel store, this store has a great variety of accessories and clothing. Great variety of gear and camping accessories I wanted to get and take home as a Christmas gift for friends. Overall worth checking out! Great store to browse around.

Sunflower Bike Shop is my favorite bike shop. From the Colorado vibe, downtown location, friendly staff, and huge space, it's an absolute homerun. Back in college, we'd trade Free State beers for minor repair work on the bikes, it was just that kind of shop. I don't know what it's like now vs then, but I know they are loaded with good bikes and a stellar repair shop. Nothing in the cycling word is considered cheap, and this is no exception. Bikes, wheels, tires, kits, they're all gonna cost you, but they're typically built to last Upstairs is loaded with camping equipment, and the north side of the store is tons of apparel, frisbees, water bottles, and more outdoorsy goods. They also do occasional demos on things like stand up paddleboards (SUP) out at Lone Star Lake, or mountain bike demos on the trails.Sometimes when I don't need anything at all, I'll still pop in here just because it's my kind of place and the vibes are on point. Perfect shop for Lawrence.

Ian was super helpful in guiding my husband to buy his bike here. No pressure, but great explanations of different models, options, pros and cons of each. My husband could test out different models outside before buying, and Ian made sure the seat was a proper fit before riding. My husband chose a Specialized Sirrus 3.0 hybrid for city riding and some gravel paths. It's light and going to be fun to ride! Sunflower is a great local store that is an important part of the Lawrence community. Above all, thanks to Ian for his amiability and expertise.

I was visiting family and my sister suggested coming to the Sunflower Bike Shop cafe for dinner because while their menu was limited, it was delicious. She was absolutely right! I ordered the cheeseburger and fries. The burger came with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and 1000 Island dressing on the side and it was one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. The fries were perhaps a little less crispy than I like, but since I didn't specify, I can't fault them and they were delicious anyway. They came unsalted, which was fine for me, but salt and pepper was on the table, so it wasn't an issue anyway. My sister got the BLT, which looked amazing, so I'd be happy to go back again to try that!

Sunflower's new management definitely shows. I'm an avid cyclist who races across several cycling disciplines. I've also lived all over the country and had mostly good, but varying experiences with respect to bike repairs and maintenance. Without question, the best experience I've had has come through Sunflower. While I do most maintenance and many basic repairs at home, for anything involving hubs, wheels (beyond basic truing), or drive train overhauls, I always seek a mechanic. This year when I brought my race bike in for annual services (bottom bracket repair, wheel hub repair, new chain, etc), not only did I get an itemized list of recommendations, but also recommendations for how to make the repairs as cheaply as possible (if I wanted to). The service team at Sunflower has the best wrenches in town - including guys who wrench for World Tour pros - who look for value at every turn. They also have a quick turnaround. Highly recommend. I trust them completely.

Sunday morning, nice and cool out and my bike's rear brake wasn't working. Got my bike to Sunflower and Austin was able to quickly figure out what was wrong and adjust the cable. I was back on the road in about 15 minutes! Thanks Austin and thanks Sunflower!!

I've never shopped here for bike items, maybe that portion is stellar. The first time I came here I was surprised when the bartender's response to my (not White) partner asking for a glass for his beer was "you're not going to take it are you?" They weren't asking the White customers that and her excuse that I had asked for my chai to go was flimsy since the iced chai I was holding was supposed to have been hot and not to go After that casually racist incident we haven't really gone back until this week when I found myself needing new goodr shades -- too bad nowhere else in town had the frames I wanted. The employee who helped me really made me feel like a nuisance, barely spoke to me and scoffed at my one question - "these aren't $25?" Sorry for asking dude, nothing had a price tag Won't be back again

Gotta update my previous negative review... Recently had some bike issues, rolled into Sunflower with my bike and they fixed my bike in like 10 minutes. Didn't catch the mechanic's name, but he was nice to me, listened to me without giving me any "I know more about bikes than you" attitude and really helped me out quickly. I did not expect to get my bike fixed up in such short order. It's a bummer that their outdoor section has dwindled, but they've got at least one nice dude in there working on bikes and I'm grateful for that. Cheers.
