Christmas in September! For years I have wanted a ceramic Christmas tree like my great grandmother had when I was a child. I looked online but never could decide on size. I was GIDDY when I saw that Sunfire lets you make your own and they had a variety of sizes from which to choose. This is a popular item and event because the first painting party was sold out. I snapped at the chance to attend the second party and it was fabulous. The painting party was a ticketed event so I bought my ticket ahead of time. I was not quite sure what to expect but this met my expectations and more. The wonderful staff at Sunfire handhold you through each step of the process.Within minutes of picking my tree, I was being shown the process. The staff answered all my questions and they were so nice. You can tell the staff enjoys what they do and they have fun at work. They were so gracious to everyone. There were appetizers and wine... what a nice touch. I actually think I painted better after the wine. lol. This is a small, quaint building and used to be an old gas station. It was built in 1910 and that makes this space even more special. It is brightly and eclectically decorated and a very happy, creative space. Parking was not an issue and there seemed to be plenty of spaces despite not having a parking lot and being downtown. Access was very easy which is key for me. The prices seemed very reasonable and I could tell I got so much for my money. Well spent money for a fun event. I had so much fun that I am thinking of going back soon.

Cute little house-like Pottery Shop, with Corky decor and a variety of crafts to choose from.Go in and select your table, find a piece of pottery that you would like to paint and dig in. We were glad that the staff gave us some sort of Direction, which paint was where, how to clean up, how to change brushes, excetera.Note that there is an additional firing fee, which is not listed on the piece price.

I love Sunfire Ceramics!Such a good childhood memory of coming here for my older sister's birthday. The staff is so warm and friendly and the pricing system here is awesome! They don't charge you by the hour or for each paint color! Definitely recommend coming here with kiddos!

I think this place is awesome because you can just walk in and pick something if you're feeling crafty! They have awesome pieces to choose from and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly even for us less "artsy" people.

I love bringing my kids here on their birthdays. They always have such fun time painting something they'll take home to have around their room. I wish I knew of a place in KC now that we've moved away.

What an awesome place to take the kids on a crummy rainy, snowy, or hot day. They absolutely love painting their own pottery plus at an extremely affordable cost. Sunfire is much cheaper than the other place in town with so much more to choose from and the building has so much character with the walls all hand painted different colors and designs, it all provides for a very creative environment for both the kids and I. We are excited to try to fused glass that they now offer as well sometime soon.I give em 5 stars easily.

This place is awesome to take the kids to when you have nothing else to do especially during the colder months. They have a plethora of things to make. You won't be disappointed if you want to do a little crafting and not break the bank.
