I'm new to yoga in general and have been trying a lot of new places. I tried a regular studio and was like ehhh. Found a Groupon for hot yoga - read about the benefits and decided let's do this!!! I tried a few of the classes on the unlimited month. The sumits 60 was not the first class I should of been trying - wish I could eventually build up to that level though. The restore and relax classes are nice when you just want to relax and stretch and enjoy the heat. My favorite class is with Joni on Wednesday mornings - the slow and flow class. It's just slow enough to keep up for me but not too fast and I love her enthusiasm and loooove the hot yoga aspect. Try it out.

I LOVE SUMITS! This is so great because we have one in CA where I used to live and this one is just as great! They have a very diverse range of classes, included a heated Pi-Yo class that is SUPER challenging and includes a lot of cardio. Their sumit flows are great and so are their late night stretching classes. The teachers are lovely and do a great job of making the classes challenging and also relaxing. It is definitely a non-judgmental space as well! There is a great Groupon available right now that I recommend and their community classes are $9 which is pretty accessible.

I'm totally new to Sumits, I've been 3 times in the last week with 3 different instructors. They have all been great. The workouts are challenging; But at the same time leaves you feeling amazing and strong. And for about an hour you leave everything outside of that room and you step on your mat and you're you. You take all of those hats off whether it be mom, dad, leader, boss....whatever it is you do out side of those doors, you focus on you for an hour. You leave feeling like you can concur anything because of what you just did in that room! The classes that I've been to the instructor is walking around and watching everyone's form. And also helping with modifications. But (in the classes that I have been to) there's plenty of people who know what they're doing for me to watch. There's a big locker room where you leave your stuff. There's showers in there and things you need to get ready if you need to shower there. Everything is clean and comfortable.

I found my new yoga home! This is a great studio. I started my yoga journey in 1998 and over the years I've practiced many different styles, in many different studios. I've struggled lately to find a studio that I love, SumitsKC fits the bill. I stumbled upon SumitsKC by accident and I couldn't be happier with the experience. This studio offers a variety of classes every day. The room is hot, but without the typical "hot yoga odor" as found in most other hot studios. Sumits style is a mix of Bikram and Vinyasa, my two favorites. They also offer PiYo and other classes if you wanna shake things up a bit. Highly recommend this studio. Namaste

So this was my first time trying hot yoga. I accidently bought a Groupon, without realizing the type of yoga that Sumits practices. That's the first downside there is no variety. It's all hot First everyone is always super nice and very encouraging. Well except for one. But some people just aren't the friendly type. If you're a beginner these classes are not for you, while the instructors seem like they've all been practicing for awhile, most just stand in the back of the room and call out positions. If you don't know them you have to look around and watch others to see what you are supposed to do. And noone help you if you're pose isn't correct. The closest I got was being handed some blocks today. However, I'm not sure why. Speaking of which, I've been coming here three weeks and today was the first day I even knew they had props. Oh speaking of props make sure you bring your own towel or else you will be forced to buy a towel from them. At a hefty price, in my opinion. Or you can rent one which probably costs more. They have two yoga rooms but I've only ever seen one being used. They have nice locker rooms if you need to shower afterwards. I've seen shampoos and soaps in the showers but I don't know if those were community use or if someone was calling dibs on the shower because I never got a tour of the facility or anything explained. The class descriptions aren't very good. I went to a class that was described as being "milder". I found out when I went to my first class that it was the more physically difficult class. It was just heated to a few less degrees. There isn't enough weights for everyone, mainly because people are allowed to take multiple sets. Which means if you get there last you're out of luck. The other class is pretty tough too don't get me wrong. But when I thought I found the class and the time I wanted to go I showed up one day and it was the harder class again. So while the rest of the week it was easy class at 530 and harder class after. One day it was reversed. The instructors apparently can change without warning too. I showed up to the class which had one of my favorite instructors listed to find that some other lady was teaching. And she wasn't listed as part of staff so that makes me uneasy. And there was no explanation for the switch. And she wasn't very nice. And finally some classes aren't offered enough so you can't try them all. Oh and it took forever to get my online account fixed. As a novice and someone just starting out in my healthy lifestyle this place just wasn't fun nor appealing to me to continue

I was so nervous to try hot yoga and I am so thankful I finally tried it. I have taken two classes here so far and I am obsessed already. Everyone is so welcoming and nice. The staff does a great job at making everyone feel comfortable and included no matter what your skill level is. The instructors I have had so far explain the moves very well making it easier to follow. I will definitely continue to go here!

I found this yoga studio on Groupon and decided to try it. I am not a fan of being hot(in fact I hate it) but I love the way my muscles stretch when they r warm ok about sumit yoga studio. My first experiences was good , warm and friendly greeting and my first class was challenging but I make it through temps top off at 100 degrees+. I feel that it's not for beginners because they don't take the time out to show you different or modify positions but I am always up for a challenge and will continue going. #yogasixurstillmy#uno

Sumits yoga is my current favorite spot. The instructors are friendly and they know how to direct a class! I am very new to yoga been practicing for about a month now and I am very comfortable and don't feel pressured to look a certain way or perform a certain way, there is no competition, everyone goes there to learn and to grow more as a yogi for themselves! I especially love the hour long hot yoga class, it's a hour to myself where I get to focus and concentrate on myself and I really enjoy that time to myself.

I love this studio! All the instructors are well prepared, pay attention to detail, and treat each person with care and respect. Personally, what yoga has done for me emotionally, spiritually and physically has been a very pleasant surprise.

I purchased a groupon and wasn't sure what to expect. Yoga can be different depending on the area you are in and how experienced the instructors are. I arrived 15 minutes early to make sure everything would go smoothly, I was greeted right when I walked in and was not belittled for having a groupon. (some places treat you as a lesser human when you purchase one...)Check in was easy, they learn their members quickly. There is not type of scanning or member number that you have to recite. There are men and women's bathrooms that also have multiple showers and lockers. The showers have shampoo/conditioner in them and their is lotion and hair accessories'/products available to use as well. (unknown if the men have the same set up)Everything is clean and orderly, well taken care of. I go into the hot yoga room which surprisingly smells clean! Most hot yoga rooms have a stench to them, if you have participated in hot yoga you know what I'm talkin' about. The rooms are pretty small, very intimate setting. Probably 12-15 students max. The instructor led us through the poses-we did a majority of the main poses most people would know. Overall I give them an A+, I have yet to have a different instructor but that was mostly due to the holiday and she was filling in. Class times are consistent, they have a 5:30AM which is great for those of us that work! They also offer day classes and night classes, there is no excuse to NOT find a class that can fit into your schedule. I travel a lot but I plan on buying some type of class pass after my 30 days are up.
