In 2002, the barn was moved to our Wyandotte location. It was constructed in the early 1900s.
Purchased in the early 60s, the original 12 acre 10501 Roe store has grown to add a garden center.
Growing with you for over 50 years!

We frequent this location due to proximity and hands down the best customer service in the area! All of the employees we have dealt with here are knowledgable, caring and very good at recommending proper types and care of plants, trees and landscaping. Their lot is massive and aways well stocked with a large variety of vegetation. We purchased a gorgeous Japanese Maple here two years ago and with their direction, now have a beautiful front of house piece that changed the look entirely! We have also had to return 3 of 5 medium shrubs that just did not survive for whatever reason. They refunded in credit no questions asked and gave us advice on the second attempt. They have a great loyalty program and run sales through email flyers. The prices seem to be on oar with the big box stores, but with a better quality plant than those stores. Thank you!

In order to appreciate this place you need to be of a certain age. You know the age where you kind of like doing yard work? Yeah, that one. I am in my first house and I'm in a phase where I really enjoy knocking all this stuff out. Lawn projects, landscaping, you name it. So when a beautiful, crisp fall afternoon lined up on a Saturday, my wife and I wound up here. We grabbed pumpkins, cool weather grass seed, boxwood, hydrangeas, straw mulch, and pea gravel for our new fire pit. The staff was helpful, especially when I had no earthly idea how many bags of pea gravel we'd need for our 10 foot firepit. They have charts and helped me nail it down.To top it off, anytime you order something big, you can drive your car over to that exact area and the crew will help you load everything in. We dropped some coin here, but I think it will all end up being worth it. It's a good spot in a convenient enough location that I recommend checking out.

A little pricey but great stock and superior help. Great selection, especially shrubs and trees. Many years a faithful partner for our gardening. Many trees and mainstays in our yard are from you all. Thank you for the many years of service!

It was a pleasure strolling the grounds here to see the great variety of plants. I liked that employees were stationed throughout the facility to provide assistance. The selection was great, the prices were fairly reasonable, and the service was helpful. My large rhododendron ($69.99) came with a trees & shrubs planting & care guide, along with a "two year guarantee of success". Very nice!

It's a TON of fun walking around this place wishing you had a few acres, a huge pile of cash and a few brawny guys to dig holes to plant all the cool stuff here. The selection is amazing. My frustration with this place is that it is often understaffed. On our last trip here, the hubby and I picked out a tree that we wanted to have delivered and planted. It's great that they have the option to get a tree delivered and planted, but apparently, you are required to talk to someone outside to get this arranged. Unfortunately, there was nobody around to help us when we were outside. When we went in, we waited in line at the counter and when we got up to the front, the cashier told us we had to step out of line because this transaction couldn't take place at that particular register. Then another employee went to hunt down someone from outside to assist. When that person finally showed up, it was 100% clear that she was NOT in the mood to provide customer service to anyone. We finally got what we wanted, but it took longer than it should have and we did not need the snarling attitude. This is not the first time that it has been difficult to get customer service at Suburban and I suspect that it will not be the last, but I will still likely come here on occasion because they have a really nice selection of plants and trees. I just wish they were easier and more pleasant to purchase.

I wish I could give them zero stars. My son ordered 3 cu. yds. of Indiana Rainbow rock for his landscape areas. The rock was delivered on the same truck as a mulch delivery. The rock was laced with black mulch and dirt throughout the pile. We called and were unable to speak with anyone in management. The customer service rep would only relay messages to the manager. After sending many photos they reluctantly agreed to refund 1 of the 3 cu. yds. of rock. We would have preferred they remove the rock and deliver a fresh load or credited us the full amount. It took us hours and hours to blow the mulch and power wash the dirt and debris from the rocks. They told us they have combine loads to be efficient in their deliveries. Horrible customer service and horrible product. They said only residents complain about this and that professional landscapers just install the rock as is with the mulch, mud, and debris. Never purchase rock from Suburban Lawn.

Suburban L & G in Martin City is one of my favorite places! The incredible variety of annuals, perennials, bushes, trees and house plants is beyond compare. One can count on the health and vitality of each. Anything one would possibly want for the lawn and garden is there - from rocks, mulches and gravels to pots, statuary, arbors, furniture and so much more. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They will ensure you find exactly what you need and get answers to your questions. Sometimes I just walk through to take a look and get ideas for future plans. That place never fails to lift my spirits!

Edit:After a very frustrating experience a manager from the nursery reached out to us and was extremely kind and apologetic. She very much wanted to reconcile the experience and made us feel so much better about the company and customer service. Thanks Pam for being kind and restoring our view on our local nursery. Very disappointed in this company. Their products are wonderful, their employees and customer service is one of the worst I've worked with. We spent $2300 on trees/landscaping because we wanted to spend our money with a local company versus a big company like Lowe's/Home Depot/etc. Worst decision. Everything was horrible down to the gentleman who checked us out at the register who was extremely rude. The communication was awful all around on trying to coordinate them to come plant our trees, not telling us when they were showing up or when they were sending the city out to mark power lines, and the employees of Suburban acting irritated with us throughout the entire process, made the entire ordeal miserable. On top of the staff being just generally very unpleasant and rude. We live 5 minutes from this nursery and will never spend another dollar here.
