Western Shawnee has some wide open spaces. Some of that space gets filled with housing; some gets filled with small businesses like Station 3. And Station 3 is bringing a stellar coffee game to those spaces with the vibe of a west coast kaffehaus. For starters, out here there are plenty of coffee options. You know, Seattle and the like, but not much in the way of locally-owned spots. Housed in a former firehouse and overlooking a small equestrian space, Station 3 has found a home. Their patio area is very nice, a few tables or Adirondacks spaced nicely, and the inside has enough seating (with WiFi!) to accommodate a few folks. But if weather allows and you're staying, then outside is the jam.The coffee is their own blend, strong and nutty, and holds up perfectly in their beverages. Their menu is a bit smaller but focused and the options for almost anyone still exist. Whether you like your drink hot or iced, there are lattes, Americanos, tea drinks and more to marry up with their pastry selection. The food comes courtesy of Scratch Bakery and tends to rotate, so you might find some seasonal choices as you progress with the sun cycles.Parking is plentiful, even though you abut the main road that leads to Station 3. But there is a private lot, adorned by a lovely mural on the west side of the building, with lots of space. If you've spent much time in these stretches of western JoCo, then you know how nice it is to have something close by instead of trekking inside the loop or further for great coffee. Station 3 has the makings of a mainstay and it's local for denizens of the western part of the metro.

Newly opened in March 2024! Drive by this area on a regular (ish) basis to head to the Midland access to Shawnee Mission Park and decided to stop by today. Just barely made it--they close at 2:00 (14:00) daily. Daily Hours of operation 0700-14:00I thought I'd get a decaf (don't hate me, I'm caffeine shy after noon-- ) something but ended up getting a refreshing strawberry lemonade! Yum!!People are friendly here. I like the space. They have noshes and beverages. Their Chai and syrups are made by them! :)They have indoor and outdoor seating.Their coffee beans are sourced from a local (Liberty, MO) company. They have plenty of parking.I'm going back for sure!

Adorable coffee spot with fun story behind it's origination. With vivibrant sunflower murals outside and yard games, firepit, patio tables. Inside you are cheerfully greeted by the batista as you place your order. Small pastry display with a variety of options, from muffins, crossiants and danishes. We opted for a homemade strawberry poptart, amazing! The regular drip coffee was very good as well. Another person in our group got the breakfast burrito and raved about it. There is also a great selection of seasonal favorites available, like the pumpkin spice latte. Great place to catch up with friends, read a book or get some work completed in a quiet space.

Definitely my new favorite coffee shop in KC area! They've got yummy housemade syrups and the breakfast burrito was delicious. The area is beautiful with lots of trees around as well as a nearby trail that is popular. The service was warm & prompt. And the strawberry matcha I got was superb I will be back, thanks Station 3!

Trying out this new coffee shop for the first time. What a unique and attractive place. I had a large iced latte with sugar free vanilla and oat milk and it was very good. I really liked the cleanliness, attractive building that is unique and especially the bright outdoor space.

Super nice staff. Really cute inside. Fun flavors of coffee and tea. But honestly, I go for the Japanese donuts.

This is such a cute little coffee shop. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The drinks were good. They don't have almond milk, but do have oat milk. The biscuit sandwiches we got were pretty good, if a bit greasy. I can't wait to try the cinnamon roll I got for later, which was on sale for half off. They also sell cute local jewelry and whole bean coffee.

What a gem! These folks have done a wonderful job creating a relaxing environment (inside and outside) to enjoy a cup of coffee and/or have a nice snack. We got the lowdown on the history of the building, too, and the name--it was once Shawnee Fire's Station #3. This is a bit out of our way but it still might become a regular stop.
