if you're looking for incredible Indian cuisine, Spice of Bombay in Overland Park is a must-visit! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an impressive menu of authentic dishes. We started with a round of cocktails and a refreshing Mango Lassi, setting the stage for a flavorful experience. For appetizers, we tried the Vegetable Pakora, Gobi Manchurian (crispy cauliflower in a tangy, spicy sauce), and classic Samosas--all delicious and packed with bold spices. For the main course, we sampled several standout dishes: * Chicken Tikka Masala - Creamy, rich, and full of flavor * Butter Chicken - A comforting and perfectly spiced dish * Spice of Bombay Special Grill - A must-try for those who love grilled meats * Lamb Biryani - Fragrant, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection * Garlic Naan - The perfect accompaniment to soak up all the flavorful saucesIf you're a fan of Indian cuisine--or looking to try something new--definitely check this place out!

I heard of Spice of Bombay on Instagram and was so excited to try. They took over the old Kulture Kurry location out off of College and that made perfect sense for myself and my aunt + her boys as it's somewhat central for us via the highway. We LOVE Indian food and have tried many of the places in Kansas City, so this was a must. Well, let me tell you, they delivered. The butter chicken was crazy good and the chickpea masala was also very tasty and great leftover. But ya'll....the NAAN. THE NAAN! The garlic cheese stuffed naan gave me an out of body experience. No lie. It was worth every penny. My only concern was that we went at dinner time and it was completely empty. Like literally just the four us in the back corner and nobody else in the entire restaurant besides the staff. It was so beautifully setup too! So that made me sad! This had no effect on the food or service, but I feel that they either need more advertising or better deals to get people in the door. Perhaps a Yelp event? Go visit them and help them out because it's great food and I fear people are just ignoring them because of the location and the fact that they're competing with Garrozo's next door. Wishing them the best!

First time at this new restaurant, we had the lunch buffet on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is decorated very nicely, bright and clean with the buffet line against one wall. The buffet selection was very good with many options including rice, Tandoori chicken, curry chicken, tikka masala, butter chicken, saag paneer, vegetable korma, a cauliflower dish, and many more including a good chutney selection and dessert (I think it was a mango ice cream). The aroma of the garlic naan that was brought to our table was perfect, it was hot and delicious! Although there are some Indian buffets in the area, this one was so good, it is my new go-to Indian buffet and I can't wait to go back!It is located in the strip mall near Corporate Woods on College and 69 Hwy.

We stopped in here on a Saturday night and there was plenty of seating available for a party of 9. They were really accommodating especially with 2 kids in our party. I got an order of the butter chicken and some garlic and onion naan bread. My fiancee got the chicken kebabs but they didn't come out as your traditional kebab style. It was more of a fajita style and we weren't real to impressed with the chicken was extremely dry. I did enjoy my butter chicken dish. It was smaller but had a lot of great flavor to it. Prices were pretty reasonable too. A great new Indian spot to check out in the Overland Park area.

I was impressed with everything about this new north Indian restaurant during my opening week dine-in lunch visit.During the soft opening the restaurant is offering the buffet every day for lunch and dinner, but later the buffet will be offered only on Sundays. The buffet ($19.99) included choice of naan, salad bar, desserts and veg, chicken, goat and beef entrées. Everything I tried was at the proper temperature and tasted great, with plenty of that north Indian creamy goodness. I loved the garlic naan, which was fresh, warm and very flavorful.Labels at the buffet were a mixed bag, with many nicely detailed labels, some temporary labels and some missing labels at the salad bar dressings, but I understand staff are already working on correcting the issue.I found the dining area to be clean and elegant with pleasant Indian background music and a mix of booths and tables, while the staff were first-rate - attentive, polite, professional and helpful - nice!Excellent!

Do you enjoy having complete attention from a restaurants staff? If you do then here's a tip - visit during a KC Chiefs playoff game. We arrived at Spice of Bombay at 5:30 this past Sunday evening, which coincided with the kick-off of the AFC championship game. This town loves it's football; because not only was the restaurant completely empty, so was College Blvd. I traded watching the game at home for concert tickets at JCCC just down the street and wanted to make the most of the evening in OP since I don't get out here often. I will always choose art over sports, and that includes culinary arts also.SoB is casually elegant for a stripmall, with attractive and proper table settings and a large menu of the subcontinents best offerings. My wife and I ordered a veggie Samosa for an appetizer to share and I selected a large cup of hot Chai while we waited for our entrees. She ordered the Chicken Daal and I the Shrimp Tandoori. We also did a side of Onion Naan. The Samosas were basically a vehicle to taste test the three condiments - the red garlic, green mint and brown tamarind sauces / chutneys. I love them all. My wife received her entree a good 10 mins before mine - the only real glitch of the evening. She said the flavor was wonderful, but knowing that there were lentils in the recipe, I will take her word for it. my Indian shrimp fajitas (tandoori) were only missing the tortillas. A dozen or more steaming grilled shrimp served on a traditional 1000 degree fajita plate with sauteed onions and peppers were straight out of Tex-Mex playbook, just a different spice and a side of Basmati rice. A fantastic feed. The Naan was fresh and hot and covered in caramelized onions baked into the bread. A very large and satisfying feast with great service. Thank you SoB for reminding me that I need more Indian food in my restaurant rotation.

This review is based off the Lunch Buffet only. The restaurant interior was very pretty and clean. It was probably the fanciest Indian restaurant I've been to in Overland Park. The service was great! Everyone was helpful and polite. There was a decent amount of dishes in the buffet and they bring out fresh garlic Naan to your table. They only have plain white rice with a few different curry's and special dishes. They had chicken, beef, and goat curry. They had a salad bar with different sauces and a few desserts. Loves the mango pudding!Lunch buffet was $20 not including tax or tip, and kids 5 and under are free. For the price, would like atleast one nicer dish with seafood or something. Overall a good experience. Decent buffet.

Came here in a Saturday night at 530, plenty of parking and plenty of tables even for a party of 8. There was some lost in translation when it came to ordering that made it difficult for someone unfamiliar with Indian food. Drinks and waters didn't get refilled. Chicken kebab was hella dry and almost crispy, the veggies were had good flavor. The garlic and onion bread really stood out.

A newly done restaurant with nice Ambiance. New owners and new name at a previous location of Kulture Kurry. Owner also successfully runs Taj Mahal. Very nice service . We are vegetarian and loved our vegetarian selections. Prices are very fair. Highly recommend.
