SoS Happy Hour keeps drawing us back! The margs, the tacos, and the dips. Does not disappoint! Great spot to meet some friends for some tasty food.

The fish taco was pretty good not something in particular so standout but it's a fun little place to just hangout and casualwith friends. The tortilla chips were a little bit salty bit it's crispy!

Only ever had this for takeout, but it's good. I feel like their tacos are absolutely loaded up, and all things considered, the price feels right. Their Al Pastor have been a go-to (pork, pineapple,cilantro, onion, radish, corn tortilla) and again they are gigantic! Two is easily enough, for about $10. They also have tasty guac and queso, if you're into that kind of thing (who isn't?)This spot is definitely more of the "Tex-Mex" variety and has a ton of crowd pleasers. I feel like maybe I should actually go in here and eat sometime, but it also does just fine as delivery.

I revisited the South of Summit Grill today after 7-8 months, and regrettably, this recent visit left me thoroughly disheartened. There has been a noticeable decline in the restaurant's overall quality, extending from the chips and salsa to their burritos. I suspect this decline may be attributed to a change in management or alterations in the kitchen staff.I ordered elote, which was properly prepared, hence deserving of the two stars I'm awarding for this review. However, the complimentary chips and salsa that used to be a delight were a letdown this time around. The chips were excessively oily compared to their previous crispiness, and the salsa lacked the flavorful and spicy punch it once had.For the main course I had an Al pastor burrito and it was the primary source of disappointment. The meat was inadequately cooked, rendering it chewy and the pork pieces were overly large, making them challenging to chew properly. Furthermore, the burrito severely lacked taste and freshness, and its inclusion of French fries in it was the end of the whole dish.Overall, I can only rate this experience a 2 out of 10. The decline in quality compared to my previous visits was quite significant, leaving me with little desire to return anytime soon.

Absolute favourite spot for happy hour & margs!!The house margs here are refreshing and delicious - made with classic, simple & fresh ingredients, none of that store bought marg mix mess. & only $4 during happy hour.The chips and salsa are complimentary, but you've gotta try the queso too (1/2 price on happy hour)! For mains, some favourites have been the chicken, carne asada, and shrimp. Honorable mentions: the al pastor, and recent addition to the menu, birria taco! Also love the elote - a lot of restaurants mess this one up, but sos uses all the right toppings, down to the Cotija cheese and tajin. One side order of elote comes with two sticks, perfect to share! Haven't saved room for dessert yet, as two tacos, elote, and endless chips & salsa/queso are more than filling, but I assume the churros are delicious too.

I enjoy the environment and the customer service. This is my second time eating South of Summit. The first time my birria tacos were so full of flavor and I decided to actually visit the restaurant. This time the tacos had a lot of meat, barely any cheese and no flavor. I had to make sure it was the same place I ordered from when I first moved to KC. I liked the vibe and will probably be back but not for the birria. The queso and salsa are really good.

I'm honestly surprised at how much I loved this place. It's part of the summit restaurant chain that takes up this city block and while it came highly recommended, I'm always a little nervous about another taco "concept" restaurant. My lunch plans with my friend were at 11:30. I expected it to be hopping on a weekday at lunch given the buzz I'd heard but it was empty and I had the whole place to myself while I waited for my friend. This made me a bit more nervous but a few more folks showed up and once our tacos arrived my worries dissipated. These things are wonderful, simply wonderful. My Texan Grandma would probably love these tacos. I ordered a barbacoa taco and a cheese curd taco - both amazing. I had to try the elote and my god was it delish. I feel like this place might fall under the radar for a while since it doesn't have as much street cred as taco places along sw blvd, but I promise it tastes great and you won't be disappointed. PS: they will tell you to order three tacos and I could barley get through two plus a side. Only go for three if you are very hungry as the portions are generous.

If you're looking for a cute spot with delicious food, this is the place for you! The interior is adorable.But let's talk about the food. The queso here is hands down one of the best I've ever had anywhere. It's so creamy and flavorful, and the chips that come with it are perfect for dipping.The coconut hibiscus drink was good, but I have to admit, it tasted pretty much like a regular margarita. It wasn't bad by any means, but I was hoping for more of that coconut and hibiscus flavor to come through.Now let's get to the quesabirria. It was very good - perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. And the rice! Oh my goodness, I am in love with it. I want the recipe badly so I can replicate it at home.Definitely will be back!

A little hole in the wall you shouldn't miss!I've been here a few times after an event, and South of Summit never disappoints. Despite the size of my group and the time we can get there (usually around 9 pm), the staff is extremely accommodating and makes sure that we are served.I'm quite fond of shrimp tacos, and I cannot praise the ones here enough. The shrimp are tender but crisp. Although they are mildly seasoned, it's just the right amount of flavor without making them spicy. The slaw is cool, refreshing, and complements the shrimp so well. I'm really obsessed with the sauce they use to make the slaw!I'm a huge fan of this restaurant and will definitely be back!

I am pleasantly surprised at this Summit Groups's Mexican joint! Food: First, I started with Queso! It gave what it was supposed to give okay!!!! Super creamy and a nice consistency. I got to enjoy the Al pastor taco , Carne Asada, and a Barbacoa foldie. With each and every taco the amount of meat on each was generous! I have no complaints about any of them. If I had to choose one.. I couldn't so let me choose my two favorites lol! The Carne Asada was cooked PERFECTLY! Seasoned to perfection and had the charred grill flavor. My other favorite was the Barbacoa foldie which was slow roasted and you could tell that they were cooked with patience! They took their time and did that! Finished with the churros which was super tasty! Had the right amount of crunch to fluff. Drinks: So the house margarita has different flavors and I picked the prickly pear frozen and it was a hit! Whatever tequila they used did not taste cheap or anything ! Service: The staff were friendly and never let my glass look like it needed any attention. I also loved how they helped me pronounce the food titles ! Overall it was a banger! Def will be back and the happy hour is EVERY DAY 3-6
