We had a really nice visit today on a Saturday!! Service was very friendly with great recommendations. Food came out fast and piping hot. Sandwiches were delicious and a huge portion. The burnt end sandwich was tender. The fries were not my favorite. The bbq sauce was unique and delicious.Potato salad and baked beans were good choices between the two of us. We started off with the combo sampler on the appetizer - couldn't go wrong with. The manager stopped by and talked with us a bit. Think we will have to add this to one of our top 5 BBQ places in KC

I've had better. Nothing special. My friends and I decided to eat here when we had a 4 hour layover. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best. Didn't seem fresh either. My favorite thing that I ordered were the beans! Big portions. I def had a midnight snack when I got home. Service was alight.

We had an amazing lunch here today. Smokehouse BBQ has always been a family favorite and is the best bbq I've had in KC north and most anywhere around KC. Everything is great. We love the zucchini slab appetizer and the corn nuggets. Any meat you get is great. The sauce is very flavorful as well. The sides are great. The beans are my favorite I've ever had and the cheesy corn is as good or better than Jack Stack. Service is always great and the place is always clean and smells amazing.

We tried it ~12 years ago and weren't impressed. A friend wanted to try it for his birthday last week so I figured I'd give it another shot. The restaurant was decorated nicely; a bit upscale from what I remembered. I ordered the burnt end platter with beans and cheesy corn. I'm still not a huge fan. The beef burn ends were rather dry and tough, and the pork burnt ends were the opposite - almost mush. I've had both types of burnt ends at other KC joints and not experienced this before. Usually burnt ends are nice and juicy, and have a good mouth feel. These were either tough or mush, no in between. The cheesy corn had a bit too much cheese. The beans were very good, and the saving grace of the meal. I should've ordered double beans instead of the cheesy corn. The meal came out pre-sauced with their standard sauce. I asked for some spicy sauce as well, but neither really did much for me. They were just "okay" to be honest. I'd probably go back again if this is where friends wanted to go, but I wouldn't go out of my way to head back here on my own, because I've got plenty of other favorite spots in town for good 'que.

Juanita was a very pleasant server. It was our first time here so we definitely needed a little bit of time to figure out what we wanted. This restaurant had a lot of different options. Bbq was good. I enjoyed the sauce.Overall the food was good. I personally ate the salmon burger, with chipotle ranch! I wasn't a a fan of the house salad, there were uncooked sweet peas in it.

If you're looking for the true essence of Kansas City barbecue, Smokehouse BBQ is a must-visit. This spot might just offer the best barbecue I've had in the city, which is already renowned for its rich barbecue traditions. The sauces at Smokehouse BBQ steal the show--whether you choose the sweet or spicy, both are exceptional, with complex flavors that elevate every dish. The burnt ends, a Kansas City staple, were outstanding: perfectly charred, tender, and infused with smoky goodness. Even the beans weren't just a side; they were a savory, well-seasoned delight. The welcoming atmosphere adds to the experience, making you feel at home from the moment you walk in. The staff's professionalism further enhances the overall vibe.

This place was fantastic and so affordable! We started with the fried mushrooms that were very good. We then had the family gathering meal that included three meats and two sides. It was so much food and all very delicious. We would highly recommend this place if you are looking for good barbecue!

Service was fabulous, friendly and fast with Caitlin. The meats were all super tender and well smoked. The house salad was good with egg, bacon, peas, etc we either were over charged $4.50 for side of Cole slaw with the platter or didn't realize there was an up-charge. Was good but but not worth an extra $4.50 unless it was an ala-carte order and not one of the two sides with the platter. Sad they were out of the smoked catfish but got there around 7 pm so sold out. Ambiance is nice with lots of tables and booth seating.
