The last few years, I've been gifting my friend "experiences" for birthday gifts that we can enjoy together. I stumbled upon a Groupon for a paint party at Smash House. Aside from paint parties, Smash House offers various packages to break items or have a food fight. The full price for the paint party is a little steep, but it was definitely a fun unique experience for the Groupon price. The paint experience is for 15 minutes but we ran out of paint with approximately 5-7 minutes left. The paint used is washable. We chose to wear old clothes without ponchos to fully experience the fun messiness! I would be interested in returning to smash some items!

This place is laughably bad. A curious concept, but the execution is horrendous. I can't even begin to understand how this place could be insured. Firstly, the interior (non-smash space part) is a mess and there are no warnings, insight, etc. that are given to you upon entering your smash space (which is a scarily narrow part of a room which is only separated from the next smash space with a black tarp). Most of the items to "break" are file cabinets and appliances which can't make a dent. Aside from this are the random glass bottles of death. Within the first 30 seconds of being in the room, one of the guests I was with started bleeding from his face after a glass shard bounced off of the wall and hit him. It was about that time that I almost slipped on a piece of a glass before I noped my way out of there. After about 10-12 minutes of time in the smash tarp, the front desk worker told us we only had 3 minutes left. We were supposed to have the room for 25 minutes (I actually appreciated the early cut off--thanks, friend!) Ultimately, we suffered one last casualty when another member of my party looked down to see blood trickling down her ankle and realizing it had also been cut with glass. 50% of our party walked away with injuries-and this was with us giving ourselves plenty of space, only hitting one thing at a time, and being very, very cautious. God speed to anyone who visits.

They just didn't show up. we had a spot at 6 pm for my boyfriends birthday and nobody was on the building for it. I asked the front desk and was told this was like the 4th time they had heard a situation like this happen with Smash House. Would not recommend. would highly recommend Rage KC as they came through for us last minute after this.

I paid $150 for four to smash. They didn't accept my Groupon because it was Mother's Day (not a federal holiday). There were 10 glass bottles and one table that were not already smashed. Part of a smashed dryer and two presmashed metal desks were given to us. I told the people up front and they didn't care. The space (covered in plastic bags) is very small to the point it's dangerous to have four people smashing things and especially if there's multiple groups next to each other. Other smash rooms I have been to have a variety of tools to use and items that are not already smashed. There is not a lot of overhead for this business and it's not hard to run this well. I would never go to KC smash house again nor would I recommend anyone to go. Can I not use my Groupon on National pancake day either?

Worst experience. Paid fifty $ and they wouldn't honor our ticket. They Said they had a sign on their door explaining the policy on the weekends not using Groupon. We drove 40 minutes and the participants I was bringing drove 3 hours for a stress relieving weekend only to be told we could come back another day. NO WHERE on the Groupon did it say you could only use it certain days. She said it says it on our door... I feel SCAMMED. There was no one there and I was still going to need to purchase 2 additional tickets in person but they changed the terms of my tickets previously purchased as a gift and did not notify or update anything. After this experience I won't Even be returning to try to use those tickets. I was left with 3 younger family members and my sister upset and crying because they thought they were going to be able to blow off steam after a devastating life altering event they went through less than 7 days prior. You're better off breaking plates into a dumpster.
