Warm Baked Potato Casserole was awesome. Good flavor with nice chunks of taters. Burnt Ends are everyone's fav but I am not sold on these. Dont get me wrong they are good but these just needed more Pulled pork has too much coriander for my taste but it was a big hit. True Pulled Pork plays well with a BBQ sauce mix of hot and sweet. Ribs are pull off the bone tender with a nice smoke ring and good chew. Highlight of my meal was the turkey! I could eat that all day long. Tender Slices with plenty of seasoning and juicy to boot. Nice place, with a wait

The Hype is WELL deserved!!I came here over a weekend trip and I was not disappointed. This is probably top 3 if not the best KC BBQ Joint. Both the Service and the Food were ok point. Here are my ratings for everything I ordered:Burnt Ends: 7.3/10 Solid with the BBQ sauce but just ok without, texture was on point. ----------------------------Brisket: 7/10 A little dry but great flavor------------------------------Ribs: 9.3/10 BEST Ribs I have ever had to date. They didn't need bbq sauce, melts in your mouth.-------------------------------Chicken: 8.4/10 Another one of my favorites!------------------------------Sides were on point as well with the stars being the baked beans and the Mac and Cheese. If I were to come again I would probably skip the Cheesy Corn. Overall: 8.6/10

This place lived up to its name! The Mike Johnson sandwich was my fav! The fries were so crispy, and we got some extra mikes sauce to dip our fries! The service is pretty fast, I was a very cold day in but they had heaters outside which kept us pretty warm. It's a very casual spot and family friendly.

This is my second time at slaps - the high reviews it's received so far should tell you that it's a top BBQ contender in KC.You walk in and make your way to the counter where you order. If you did an online order, there's a separate window that you can walk up to for your order. Line moves quick, and you can see them carving the meats for your order right in front of you. We got a platter combo, which came with brisket, ribs, burnt ends, and sausage, along with 4 different sides. Everything was solid. If you are familiar with different BBQ styles, KC does brisket slightly different from Texas for example. Therefore, I will say that my favorites for KC barbeque tends to be ribs and burnt ends, which Slaps nailed. Perfectly smoked, tender and juicy meats, which paired great with the sides. It's plenty of food too - we ordered for two and had lots to take home. For seating, there's outdoor covered seating. There's a self serve area where you can get your own sauces and more pickles if needed - they have two different kinds of BBQ sauces. It's pretty packed and seating is definitely limited, but there's enough people coming and going so there wasn't too much trouble getting a spot.Overall, top spot for BBQ in KC. It ranks as highly as several spots in town.

Slap's BBQ in Kansas City, Kansas, is a true gem for barbecue enthusiasts. Known for delivering some of the finest ribs and pulled pork in KC, this restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic barbecue flavors. The ribs are a standout, with a perfect smoke flavor that highlights the quality of the meat. They are cooked to perfection, offering a tender and juicy experience that leaves you wanting more. The pulled pork is equally impressive, boasting a succulent texture that melts in your mouth, paired with just the right amount of smokiness. One thing to keep in mind is that Slap's BBQ is popular, so you should plan to arrive early. The demand for their mouth-watering barbecue is high, and they can run out of certain items later in the day.Overall, Slap's BBQ offers an exceptional barbecue experience, both in terms of the flavors and ambiance, which embody Kansas City barbecue's essence. Whether you're a local or a visitor, it's a spot that should not be missed.

5 stars for Slap's BBQ.This is one of those BBQ places in Kansas City that is a MUST VISIT.I had "The Sandwich" - brisket version and it comes with onion rings, bbq sauce and a cheese sauce similar to a queso and a side order of fries.Absolutely delicious and super filling. I'd totally recommend if you want a great BBQ meal and to be filled up all day. As an FYI- if you come during prime hours be prepared to wait in a long line and limited parking in their lot so you may have to park on the street.

Delicious and so much to choose from! I love that they have different combo meals and plates you can decide upon. I shared the burnt end combo and you got one other choice of meat (we chose brisket!) and two sides (cheesy corn was so cheesy!) I would say the sandwich combos are decent sized too!! Had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day for cheap! They had two outside area! One covered up too and one fully covered outside patio. Which I loved for the nice day it was. The smell of the bbq cooking was the best haha! The employees there were so nice and helpful, it started to get busy when we got there and they were so patient with us since we had never been in before. Overall will be going back for the amazing bbq and maybe to watch a chiefs game on the patio!!

Pretty good barbecue, but KC's best.Slap's is listed up there amongst the KCBBQ locales. It was on my way to Fort Leavenworth, and I'd never been, so I tried it out. When I first drove by there was already a line forming outside the front entrance, which was promising. I parked close by, but there was both lot parking to the rear of and across the street of the restaurant.I got in line and looked up what their specialty was. As the line moves you into the building, the staff at the bar will ask if you want to drink while you wait - why not? I tried this Giggle Pig, a German-style wheat bier served exclusively at Slap's.They had a lot of BBQ to try, I decided to try their Burnt Ends Combo plate, which comes with burnt ends, another meat, and two sides. I went with the burnt ends, brisket, mac, and slaw. The burnt ends were tender on the inside, flavored well. The brisket was very thinly sliced and lean. I am not a fan of this cut of brisket, but I did enjoy the taste. The sides were fine. I wouldn't rave much about the sauces. The sweet is molasses based and the spicy is runny, and tomato based. The sauces were meh and buried the already good tasting bbq.Next time, I would try a sandwich or get some ribs. You can even get just "one rib" for $3.50. The Cattleman looked good it has sausage, brisket and burnt ends.Staff was super friendly and made the experience.I would come back.
