Skate City Wyandotte

I really would give this about a 3.5 but I'm rounding up since I don't have a half option.This building looks about the same as it has for years. I don't think there's been any upgrades in the building since I was younger so I'm not going to really comment about it.What I will talk about is the party that I went to recently. The staff at the front door wasn't really engaging or honestly, anything. I didn't know what was going on at all. After entering though, the hostess was really on top of everything from what I could see. The kids (and adults) really enjoyed the food. The kids were excited to skate & the DJ & their team really kept the kids moving.

We had my nieces 7th Birthday party here. I haven't been to this rink since I was in middle school 17 years ago. The party planning was super easy I was able to get all of my questions answered and the prices were perfect! I love that they provide table cloths and place mats. They also give the Birthday child a free pair of skates and one month free skating. What an amazing deal! Our petty host was so sweet and very helpful! She helped set up the table and was very hospitable. A few downsides are that the floor was hard to skate on at places but they are in the process of repairing that soon. They also didn't do the Birthday skate as I remember...when they play the happy birthday song and the birthday children skate alone. Not sure if they do that anymore but I remember as a child enjoying that.

Overall decent experience for kids. They don't have any skates or accessories on display for purchase. Snack bar staff could use some coaching on customer service and efficiency. Bathrooms need to be updated and cleaned. Bought some nachos only to realize the chips were expired. Not the most updated rink in town but the kids had fun.

Clean, kids loved it, good customer service, reasonable prices. Nice affordable place to go for kids to run some energy out and had everything for beginner skaters.

In my opinion going to Skate City Legends is one of the worst experience of my life. All the music was very inappropriate and about drugs or sex and when we asked to change it the employees called our music taste "crappy". We got a singled out in front for the entire rink and were forbidden from making requests even thought everyone else was allowed to. Because of the horrendous lyrics in your "interesting" song choices, we don't have to give my little brother "the talk", the job is already done.

Pros: new rich luster hard wood skating surface has elevated the game. Cons: besides the floor there have been no upgrades. No womens bathroom accoutrements like purse hooks, or a mirror. They could boost ads or spotlight the themed adult nights on one of the many platforms but it's only Instagram famous I think. The staff is so bare bones t takes ten minutes to get a drink because the DJ has door duty and snack bar. I come for the floor space and DJ but really hope they will invest in an air conditioner or bathroom remodel.

I absolutely love having this skating rink in my community!! I went as a kid and now I bring my kids! My son also comes for roller hockey. The staff is always helpful and friendly, the music is on point, they do games for the kids, they do a skate classes including adult skate class. My family looks forward to going every week! The floor has some uneven spots and hopefully can be updated soon..... but how else will they be able to do that if we don't support our local skating rink?!?!

Five stars! It was really fun skating and spending time with the kids and great music. Everything was awesome including the price to get in. Thanks Skate City Legends. We will be back!
