I've been using SK for about four years now. Local business. My lawn has never looked better.Amazing service; They take care of you, answer the phone, and respond quickly. I like to mow, trim and keep a nice yard (its my source of zen) so we use their yearly maintenance lawn/weed & grub/prevention/fertilizer program (4-5 treatments), although their full-service mowing and trimming is very good if you want them to do that. When they treat the lawn, They always drop off a paper explaining what they've done and any special instructions or recommendations. They also are very attentive with pets and keep detailed notes on each address for any special instructions (gates, garages, etc...) Their seed is the BEST (and greenest) shade/sun fescue mix I've ever used. They re-seeded, vertical-cut, and aerated my yard about four seasons ago and I'm very happy with our lawn. As are the neighbors who compliment it! Other services include landscaping, gardens, beds, edging, retaining walls, and more. Thanks SK!!!

Asked for a quote and received quick response followed by a visit to my house to look at the yard. Competition did not come to the house and simply offered a general quote. I had a few questions and emails came back within 24 hours. I am very happy with prep work so far.

They just disappeared didnt show up, no longer responding. Got a new lawn service, better deal.

How disappointing. I hired SK at the start of the spring and it has been awful. I tried to set up weekly lawn mowing and this seems to be much too hard for them to handle. I am never informed on what day of the week the mowers are coming, so my back gate is never unlocked for them. It wouldn't be such an issue however there are 3 different days they come on so I can never plan for them and I am not willing to just leave my gate unlocked all day every day just in case they show up. They kept charing me for the full mow until several angry phone calls. At that point they made promises of better communication and did, sometimes, go to only charing me for the front lawn. The mow job they do is rushed and sloppy. They do a BASIC MOW JOB ONLY! All of that stuff about stripe job and edging stopped for me after about the third time. I am totally confused by the positive reviews except that they tend to come from Overland Park. Guess the KCMO side of the business matters far less.

After a storm, I had a very large tree branch that had come off an elm tree in my back yard. I called SK after doing some searching on Yelp and Tim came out and gave me an estimate and told me the day he would be able to do the work of cutting up and carting off the tree limb. On the day he said he would show up he did and he got started working. After awhile I went to check on him and noticed hat he was working alone. I asked him about it and he said that he had one guy who had a pre-planned day off and another guy on his crew had a family emergency so he had to do it himself. Let me be clear: This branch was HUGE and the day was HOT. So I told him that if he needed to come back and bring some help with him, it would be alright with me. He said "No, I told you it was going to be done today so it's going to be done today. Also, I'm fairly booked up this week, so if I re-book you, it might be awhile until I can come back." I told him that I was less concerned about getting the work done than I was about him dropping dead from heat exhaustion bu he said no, he was fine and went back to work. No complaints, no attempt to try tt up the charge or anything.I'm no sure how old SK is, but Tim is young man and I look forward to doing a lot of business with them in the future.

I first hired SK Lawn Care for a small landscaping job a few months back. I was pleasantly surprised how all of their staff paid attention to detail, listened to how I wanted my lawn to look and made it so while finishing the job on time and without issue. I have used the larger companies in Kansas City and they seem to cut as many corners as they can until the customer complains. I have since replaced my lawn care company with SK Lawn Care because they are on time, they do what they say they are going to do and take the time to actually talk to me like a person and listen. I no longer have to double check to see if things were done correctly because I know I can trust Tim and his crew to do the work and do it right. I would not recommend any other company to work on your lawn in Kansas City.

Sooo incredibly disappointed with SK Lawn. I have used them in the past with excellent service and they kept my lawn looking great....im not sure what happened this season but I'm guessing it's new people cutting these lawns. First let me start by saying that I am extremely picky about my lawn. It is my belief that if you don't keep up anything else...you definitely should keep up your lawn. I explained to the owner that I wanted a plush green lawn and I did not want my grass cut too low for several reasons. 1) the type of grass that I have does not do well when cut low and it causes serious burn 2) I don't like the look of shaven down grass. He explained to me that he would have his crew mow at 3 inches high which was fine. My house sits on the corner so with that I expect the right of ways to be taken care of but I also have other upkeep that I would like done and told him to bill me for added services. Because I want my lawn a certain way I realize that not everything will be included in the basic mow price and told him to get what needed to be done taken care of and just bill me. From the start of services I have been very vocal about the type of lawn that I want and expect to have. I can cut grass myself so I'm clearly looking for a professional job which is why I'm so upset because it's like I've essentially paid someone to mess up my lawn. The first few weeks of spring I never go weekly because again I want plush grass and my grass isn't growing fast enough to warrant the cut. The owner informed me that we would start at 2 weeks and he would then let me know when it would be a good time to move forward with weekly. After the second mowing of excessive grass I actually told them to begin weekly mows. During the short time in which they were servicing my lawn they cut down bell pepper plants in my GARDEN twice and discarded the evidence so that I wouldn't know it was them only I have a camera that caught them on tape. They would miss weeds In The right of way areas, there is a huge weed growing out of the sewer that sits directly in front of my house that I told them to include in their weekly mowing which was never done and lastly.when they mowed the grass it was well below 3 inches and I measured it myself to make sure I wasn't losing it. Before I called them to inform them to switch to weekly mowing they mowed the grass and left grass clippings on the lawn which caused my lawn to burn and now my lawn looks horrible. When I called the owner stated that they didn't know if they should remove the grass because it would be an additional charge......even though I told him before we began service to always just bill for any additional charges. So now my grass looks worse since they have mowed it. It's super hot so seeding is out and I'm stuck until early fall/late summer with patchy brown grass. Oh and no reimbursement for the pepper plants might I add.

Never had this lawn care service. But I was just driving on blue ridge and this man is driving 65 in a 40 mph in an SK lawn care truck. He also just ran a lady off the road and almost hit another car with his trailer. So I mean if he can't drive, can he really mow straight lines??
