I came in with a stubborn Glock sight that just didn't want to go with my older sight pusher. Showed the guys at the counter and they had it fixed for me within 5 minutes. The store had an excellent selection of modern firearms and classic hunting guns. The used rack had some absolute deals on it as well. Was a fantastic visit and I wish they were my local spot.

These guys are something else. I call them, they usually give me quick "we're busy" answers. I hired them to fill three scope-mount holes in an old Winchester 30/30 with just three small capped screws, and they say "we'll let you know the price after we're done...shouldn't be more than $30." I thought they'd made the screws by hand. The final price? Oh, $64 for a screw kit they bought online and screwed in with a flathead and some blue Loctite. That's it. At 10 minutes of work, they garnered a rate of $384 per hour. Go to Numrich gun parts website and fix it yourself. You'll save a lot, and learn something too. DO NOT CALL SIMMONS FOR HELP...EVER.They don't know! But if they do, it'll cost you $35 for them to simply touch or glance at the firearm - Trust me. This place is either for the wealthy collector with way too much money and antique firearms in need of total repair, or a dubious everyman, in way over his budget, and in need of a small, stupid repair. They're mostly the only show in town, but honestly it would be cheaper to buy a new firearm and throw the broken one to the birds. I'll never deal with Simmons again. It's a shame, but when you're repairing sharps rifles, double-barrel flintlocks, and turn of the century Winchester originals with blank-check men, you apparently start to lose sight of little-fish logic - charging $80 to order and replace a screw-on shotgun magazine that brand new from factory costs $39 (with shipping). Shotgun is fine now, no thanks to Simmons. And that head-splittingly loud door ringer - Ugh. Buy a pleasant one that chimes, dings, or lights up like every other company since they made yours back in 1971. I swear, I'm sure that ancient, motion laser-beam device the size of a cops radar gun attached to the wall emits more radiation than a TSA body scanner. I had always ran past it when I'd visit.Use some of that Napoleon rifle money and Treat Yo' Self.

EDIT: Simmons ended up calling me after my negative experience and refunded some of the cost and apologized for what happened. I appreciated them reaching out and getting me taken care of.I have been here before and had mixed experiences, but they lost me as a customer after my last service. I installed an Apex trigger in my M&P, but it still needed some work on the trigger bar loop, so I felt more comfortable having a professional work on that. They quoted me $45 for the service, and I later received a call from the gunsmith telling me that I had installed a trigger for a different gun, but he could make it work with some modifications. I was certain I installed the right part, but I gave the OK after he told me it would be about 30-45 minutes of labor. I later went home and saw the packaging on the trigger and it explicitly stated that it was the correct part for my gun, and I even called Apex and they confirmed it as well. When I went to pick up the pistol, they charged me $150 for the service that was originally supposed to be $45, due to the "custom work" on the "incorrect trigger." Even when I presented the packaging of the trigger that clearly stated it was made for the gun, the guy at the front counter stuck to the story that it was the wrong part. The "custom work" was essentially working on the trigger bar loop (the actual work I needed done), and grinding away the backstop of the trigger causing excessive and unnecessary overtravel. So I ended up paying 3 times what I was quoted entirely due to the incompetence of the gunsmith, and I'm left with a functional yet less than ideal trigger job on a high-end trigger with no effort from Simmons to make it right.

The safety on my Citori was far too stiff, causing me to miss wild birds more than once. Simmons took care wit and now it's great. Great service, fair prices, quick turnaround.

I had my grandpas Remington 870 Wingmaster completely overhauled from end to end. The end result was beautiful. The old parts looked new again. See my before and after pics.

I had a Remington 1100 shotgun that had not been fired for several years and wanted it professionally inspected and cleaned before using it for sporting clays. Simmons found and fixed a problem with the feed mechanism, test fired it, and cleaned it, all for a very reasonable cost. It was a pleasure dealing with them, too.

Had an old Winchester Model 69A reblued. It took a while, but the finish was very good. Simmons a nice job taking apart the bolt and finishing to the original style. When I got it back the clip did not fit correct, and that was frustrating, but when i got home i aligned the barrel block in the dovetail so the stock fit correct and then the clip worked. You tube helped me figure that out. But in all, I was satisfied and i felt like the did quite a bit of quality work for the amount i was charged. While not perfect, in all it resurrected a 75 year old firearm from the virtual scrap pile and make it look like it was made yesterday. I made the furniture look good and they made the metal look perfect.

I took a marlin 97 in with an aftermarket magazine tube and an original for them to put on. they did it ok but the barrel had evidently been cut off approximately a half inch, so the original tube was past the end of the barrel which looked rather dumb. instead of calling me first to ask about it they did it anyway. when i went to pick it up i ask about my old aftermarket magazine tube , they basically told me i didn't bring it with the gun and said if i wanted one it would be a 180.00 to get it and install, so they basically called me a liar, i have spent thousands of dollars over 35 years with them and was always satisfied, the after market magazine tube inner and outer cost is 40.00. they truly lost my business over 40.00, how foolish
