SD was recommended by friends and it was terrific advice for a family dinner. Noodles, spicy beef, chives, soup dumplings and more. The spice level was American-medium ... a good choice for a first visit. Next time, more pepper, please.Staffers were very happy to see our Mandarin-speaking group ... and became aunties for the 5 YO.Will I return? Yes, but I seldom visit metro-KC since retiring.

I always have a great dining experience at Sichuan Dynasty. First, the staff are friendly, attentive, and fast. I came at a very busy time and would say I got my food within 15 minutes of ordering. My table of 4 ordered the Water Spinach, Milk & Honey Crispy Shrimp, Beef Cilantro & Peppers, Cold Noodles, and Mapo Tofu. The flavors and quality of the dishes here are great. If you are looking for an appetizer, I highly recommend the cold noodles, as it has great texture covered in a light, flavorful peanut sauce. The water spinach is a great veggie option to pair with the main dishes. The milk and honey crispy shrimp is my personal favorite. The sauce is on the sweeter side and pairs harmoniously with the crispy shrimp. The beef cilantro and peppers would be a great option for those that like some heat as it has jalapeños mixed in. Excited to try their other menu items!

Sichuan Dynasty in Overland Park is hands down the best Chinese food spot in the Kansas City metro. Every dish we tried was packed with bold, authentic flavors, and the experience exceeded all expectations. The highlight of the meal was, without a doubt, the cumin lamb. Perfectly cooked and bursting with aromatic spices, it was rich, tender, and completely unforgettable. It's a dish that alone makes this place worth the visit. We also ordered a variety of other dishes, and each one delivered. The crab Rangoon had the perfect crispy texture and creamy, flavorful filling. The Sichuan spicy wontons were tender, with an addictive, fiery sauce that brought just the right kick. The beef with cilantro and peppers was fresh, savory, and balanced, while the chicken wings were fried to perfection--crispy and juicy in every bite. Even the wonton soup impressed with its warm, flavorful broth and perfectly wrapped wontons. To round it out, the stir-fried green beans were simply amazing: crisp, garlicky, and bursting with flavor.Sichuan Dynasty's portions are generous, the menu is extensive, and the flavors are unmatched. Whether you're a fan of spicy Sichuan cuisine or simply looking for the best Chinese food in town, this is the place to go. The cumin lamb alone will keep me coming back, but every dish proves that Sichuan Dynasty is a true hidden gem.Five stars all the way--do yourself a favor and try it.

Coming from San Francisco and growing up with a Dad from Shanghai and a Cantonese Mom, we grew up with great home cooking. It was very hard to find a non-americanized Chinese Restaurant that serves more than General Chaos chicken and crab rangoon (no cream cheese in China, lol). My favorite, hard to find dish is the cold dish Fu Qi Fei Pian... So good. The staff there is very friendly, the owner is always there working hard preparing the food.

We loved each item that we ordered here. The menu list is plentiful so you should definitely come with friends in order to try as much as you can. The mala spice isn't too overwhelming but gives the perfect amount of numbing spicy sensation. My favorite was the Mao Cai hotpot which is perfect for a cold night.

Went there with a large group and they were very accommodating and friendly. I don't eat food like this often. My meal was decent. I didn't know what to order and I will say what I tried from other people's plates was better, so I do know they have better options. The hot pot was particularly good.

The food was great! I think they made really fresh and tasty Singapore noodles. All the dishes' flavors we ordered were great. I would say the service was just okay, some the waitresses were more friendly than another. Overall it was good experience except the friendliness of the service.

Came in on a Sunday night around 6pm and it was mostly full. They offer a Chinese American menu and a traditional Chinese menu! So many choices. I enjoyed the twice cooked pork and Singaporean noodles, I probably won't order the dry hotpot again since it was small for the price and mediocre. The hot chili oil wasn't spicy but added extra flavor on the side. I'm definitely coming back to try their other traditional dishes!

The Best! For starters the staff treats you like family. Every time me and my peeps go there they are always happy to see us, greet us with open arms and make us feel like they are excited for us to be there. The Food - The Chung King Spicy Chicken is the move.. you can't go wrong with it (unless you hate delicious food). EggDrop soup (I know, whats the big deal) is the best I've had. Hot Pepper Chicken - Strong Ginger and spicy and great. And last but certainly not least....Do NOT sleep on the "cold noodles" app, the flavors smack you in the mouth. There are some wild things on the menu that I know are fan favorites with some, but for this guy, I'll take the hard pass on PigBlood soup or Intestine dishes. They could and probable are terrific, they just aren't hitting the lips of this guy. It's too bad there isn't a 6-Star option.. I'd give it!
