This is a living history museum that is so realistic, it is impressive. The staff has gone to incredible lengths to recreate the town in the 1920's era to astounding accuracy. But..... you have to experience it with a docent to get the full effect. If you poke around by yourself, it may seem unimpressive. There is a farmstead onsite, with a chicken coop. The staff searched the agricultural schedule in the 1920's census to determine what type of chicken was raised in this area during that time. Then they procured that breed! Historic, heirloom chickens! I would never have learned this just by moseying around by myself. So let the docents treat you to the incredible nuances at the museum. Before I left, I bought eggs, from the chickens with the impressive lineage. Also, follow their Facebook page for great community events. This is a happening place!

The museum part was absolutely amazing! My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The most unique thing I think this place has over lots of other historic places is the fact you actually get to touch and mess around with the antique items, which is basically unheard of at most historical places. The fact it is so hands on makes it such an incredible educational experience. The prices are very cheap for a 45m tour and deep explanation of the various buildings and items in those buildings. I wish more places were set up like this were kids can actually see, reenact, and learn about historic life. All the staff was very friendly and we really enjoyed our tour guide! This place is an absolute must if you love history and you want an amazing educational experience for your kids!

We used this event space for my dad's celebration of life on a Sunday afternoon. Reserving the space and calling to confirm the tables and set up went smoothly. We were told an event coordinator would be onsite to help us with anything that came up, which was reassuring.Since we were going to play a slideshow on the screen with music, we asked about connecting a Mac computer and were told we needed HDMI or VGA connectors, so we bought one for $40 at Best Buy.You have to ask for wifi - it is not posted anywhere. When we arrived, the space was set up nicely, but we spent about 10 minutes waiting/trying to find the event coordinator to set up our computer. In the meantime, we tried figuring things out our ourselves. We spent about 25 minutes unsuccessfully trying to connect the computer, running over into the start time of the Celebration of Life. The event coordinator had to call someone else for help. A bunch of other cords later, my cousins figured things out. We did not even end up using the cord we purchased specifically for the event. The coordinator did say we could go extend our event if we needed to in order to make up for the time, but we actually wrapped up 30 minutes earlyLater when we were ready to start the music and had trouble yet again, the event coordinator was nowhere to be found. 4 people spent 10 minutes looking for her.The space itself suited our needs, but wouldn't recommend it if A/V is part of your event. The service provided by the event coordinator was extremely poor.
