Shawnee Mound BBQ

We tried a few things from here when they opened. And one was a sandwich and it was so dry water couldn't even help it sadly. Then we got these nachos that tasted so freaking sour we wasted the whole thing. And they didn't even want to compensate for it

Stop here! Some great BBQ with no fanfare. Busy LOCAL place with good service. Nothing fancy here folks just great food. If you are picky with surroundings move on down the road and save the food for others!!!Beer and Coke products. Had briskett plate with fries, slaw and pot salad $18 which fed two hungry folks. Nothing came from the kitchen that we did not want to taste.

The food here is great! I love bbq and this place is great! The ambiance is quaint and the service is good too! I have enjoyed every visit there!

We made a quick stop on our way to Branson. The place was hopping. Only one waitress/server but she kept everyone happy. Our food was perfect. We actually split one platter and it was the perfect amount of food. Don't let the blueberry sauce detour you. The blueberry flavor is mild and not overwhelming. Everything was really balanced and the beans were among the best we have had. They do use peanut oil but state that right out front for those with allergies. Check this place out if you're in the area.

When I say I am blown away by this little shack- I MEAN IT! Shawnee Mound BBQ has some of the best tasting BBQ that I have ever had in my life! That is saying a lot coming from Lexington/Thomasville, NC where we have world renowned BBQ across many travel channels/ food blogs. We walked in & were happily acknowledged by two awesome/spunky waitresses! We chose our table & immediately given menus as well as our drink order. Our waitress "BBQ Oma" instantly took up with our 5yo, he loved her- as did we! This place is popping on a Friday night! They didn't have certain menu items left tonight (but that's what happens when you're late to the party - we arrived about 7:30pm). I got the Smokehouse Sink (it's practically an amazing tasting sloppy joe). My husband got the Smokehouse Combo platter & it was to die for!!!! THIS IS OUR NEW SPOT! It's worth the 35 min drive from Warrensburg !

Was hoping this was going to be good but the meat was so dry but maybe because it was around 1pm and they close at 2pm. The bbq sauce on the table wasn't tasty to me either. Now the coleslaw, that's a different story. It was delicious!

We travel to trade shows almost every month in the summer, and we always find barbequeue to eat. On the way back to Colorado from Springfield, MO we found Shawnee Mound BBQ in Clinton, MO. Ranks right at the top of our BBQ list.

Stopped by on a road trip and they were busy when we walked in. We were welcomed right away and told he would be with us soon. The man was hustling and I appreciate that! We ordered the ribs and the chicken. The main courses were incredible and just fell off the bones. It had a wonderful smoke flavor and was cooked to a perfect temp. We got messy and enjoyed every bite. The sides were amazing with some of the best BBQ Beans I have had. Would suggest a stop if you are in the area!

This business has closed. It wasn't bad but probably didn't survive the Covid slump, but that's just a guess.

This spot is a hidden gem worth the stop in Clinton!I am a KC BBQ transplant and compare everything to SLAPs.Pulled pork was spot on!Brisket was cooked perfect and seasoned to perfection.Fresh hand cut fries were awesome.Beer was cold and plentiful!Bring your appetite portions are huge!Great people and food!
