Shark Bar

You gotta come here in the right frame of mind for this place, it's here to fill your longing for the opposite of the center of the US. Beach beach bitches!They're going to loudly play popular music on the speakers and Michael Jackson videos on the screens. You'll want to go here if there's a game being shown on the big screen. Someone will want to dance with you inside or out, and they host private parties on their deck. It can get very crowded. Sometimes they use blacklights, so if you wear a peacoat here in the winter you can surprisingly look like you were on the unfortunate side of a porn scene. Also at this bar be ready to ask yourself why everyone looks so young. It's because they are young, and you are not.

Shark Bar is an okay place to come to. It's basically a nightclub that also has a patio.I loved the patio view of Kansas City, it's a quiet small break from the loud inside nightclub. The service was not very good and the drinks are extremely overpriced - $10 for a can of miller lite - they don't even have it on tap. I saw bartenders taking shots behind the bar while we were waiting to be served to buy a round of drinks.I probably won't be back because of the service and prices, but if all you're looking for is a place to dance and listen to loud music - this may be the place for you, nightclubs aren't really my scene anyways.

The actual bar is fine and the people working were friendly but they charged a $10 cover for no live music or anything. It was the highest cover in the whole Power and Light and it was dead in there. I used to love Shark Bar for their really good tropical cocktails but they didn't even have those. I just don't see why their cover was so high with getting nothing out of going there. Howl at the Moon only had a $5 cover and there was live music so that's totally justified.

The drinks are great, the ladies at the bar are super friendly and the environment is great but the dj doesn't know how to keep a crown dancing. It's Friday night and there is no one dancing because the flow of the music is terrible. Will be back just for drinks.

With Mosaic still closed Shark Bar is by far the best club downtown. That said, I do love this spot. I love the music choices and the outdoor patio.

The shark bar is not a welcoming place. A group of friends had a horrible experience with the DJ and will not be returning.

Went to Shark Bar Friday evening. The girl working the front door was amazing! Super nice and gave us multiple compliments. Went into the bar area and it was pretty cool! Beachy vibe. The bartenders were really nice and dressed to fit the theme of the club. Drinks were great! The music was even better. I think this place is definitely one of the spots everyone needs to hit up for a girls night out!

Had to pay a 10 dollar entry fee for the entire place, which wasn't too bad... hopped over here after 'No other pub', and what a horrible choice that we did. Only reason it had a 2 star is because I liked the music, but it could have a smoother transition between each song. Floor was extremely sticky, understandable since people probably spill. But most service was ridiculous... my friends and I went up for drinks, called the bartender guy, and pretty much said, 'hold on, they came first'. Okay, understandable, so we waited like good champs, but when he came back, he took two other guys' order when we were standing right there. It wasn't until we made a really loud comment that he turned his attention to us, otherwise he might as well passed us up ... again! So much for feeling welcome to KC. Review 4 of 2018

Felt like bartender overcharged because I asked prices for beer vs well drink. He said beer $4.25 and well $5. But when I ordered 3 beers and cran vodka splash pineapple he said $5.50 so I decided on screwdriver instead making what I thought was a well drink. Somehow 3 beers and one screwdriver was $24. Given prices $4.25/ $5 quoted I don't believe the downtown tax rate is that high to make bill what it was. Sorry to sound petty but its merely the principle that he said a price but I don't believe that was what was charged. If the price adds up then its all good, but based on what we were told the numbers don't add up.By the way, Friday nights free for women and $5/ guy entrance.
