A city park 2 blocks west of the Platte City Courthouse and downtown district. It doesn't have a lot going on in regards to amenities other than a large shelter house; no playground, trails or even benches; although it does have 2 features worth checking out. A large anchor from the USS Platte is on display with a plaque describing the naval ships history. A large artillery cannon sets next to it and the small plaza commemorates all that served in the military. The other great feature of the park and why it is so named, is that it overlooks The Platte River where settlers crossed and where once stood a bridge, the stone embankment pillars remain. A great view and walking access to the river is available.
