It was an okay aquarium! We went specifically for the Animal Crossing Aquarium tour event, and we definitely enjoyed all the limited time features. Would recommend going if you're a fan of the game before it ends (Dec 19). It feels small for the price otherwise. The staff members were all awesome! A delightful woman told us about their paddle fish they were rehabbing, and a fish she had named Cheese. She clearly loved her job. The man manning the touch pool took extra time with a boy who wasn't sure about it, it was really kind. He moved things so he could reach and explained everything to the kiddo. Lastly, my friend sat her water bottle down somewhere and we went back an hour or 2 later, and after a few walkie-talkie calls from the gift shop supervisor her water bottle materialized. She was very grateful!

I really wanted to like this aquarium when it was built, and then again the few times I've been since. However, it really has nothing to appeal to an adult. It's solely built with the intention of appealing to very small children. But even then, all the fish are so small, that there isn't a lot to look at on your visit. Unless you have toddlers that really like fish, I'd skip this attraction. However, for those that do have small children, I still might say to avoid it as it's fairly expensive for what you get. The staff working there are super friendly, so it's not to say it's all bad. It also was a decent experience, but when you weigh that against the cost and memories of going to better aquariums, you realize that you don't intend to visit again. You can see more of our experience on our YouTube travel channel: https://youtu.be/fxYtm4DJeUA

My daughter loves aquariums. Usually this would not be how my husband and I spent a trip, but since we had our daughter, we knew we had to take a stop at the aquarium in Kansas City. We went on a Saturday and it was super easy to get in. I guess I am just used to the Shedd in Chicago where if you don't get tickets ahead of time, you probably won't be able to go. The displays were really unique with a sunken ship and treasure vibe. There were tons of interactive displays for kids, but for even younger kids like my toddler which was really nice. The aquarium is pretty small compared to other aquariums I have been to, but overall was done well. The staff was very nice too. My husband wanted to pet the stingrays, obviously my daughter couldn't because she was too young, but the staff member brought over a toy star fish to have her practice! It was very nice.

If you really need something cool to do this will be a great place to go. Touristy and crowded but there is no denying the beauty, variety, and awe of walking through the aquarium. Sharks swimming above and beside you is really a trip. When you are leaving is when it gets crazy. You have to run through a gauntlet of spending options with Lego being one. If you take children be ready for that. It can be a bit pricey. Overall it's not a bad time.

Decided to take a family adventure. Haven't been here for a couple of years. I really enjoyed myself and the child did as well. The time was perfect. Parking was easy to find (under the garage, free on weekends) WOW.Upon entering the Sea Life KC, the customer service was TOO RELAXED. Step Up the Customer Service. Sea Life and Lego Land. The aquarium was very clean and didn't smell of Ocean. The tour was only 1hr or so. Can't wait to Return.

Images make it seem a lot bigger than what it was. Estimated time to get through they said was 30-90mins. Took me and my husband 10min max. The areas for the actual sea life were so small and depressing for them. They had a huge shark maybe 6ish ft in one of the smallest open top pools and it looked so sad all it could do is just go in a circle. I will never waste my money to come here. You might as well go to the Kansas City Zoo for the same price and there aquarium is way better and bigger.

I think with Sea Life you have to know what you are getting into before going. If you are wanting a huge aquarium that's fun for the whole family this is not going to satisfy you. If you are looking for a really fun place for little kids (ages 2-6) that has accessible and not scary animals and educational exhibits this is 100% going to meet the mark. It was one of those Monday holidays where most offices are closed and I was looking for something to do with my 2.5 year old. Our usual spot - the zoo, was closed and she is going through a massive love of baby shark so the aquarium seemed like a natural fit. It IS expensive (around $20 per person), but if your kid is under three they are free so it all of a sudden became an affordable option as well for the two of us to have fun. I got tickets online and easily made it through the queue right around opening time. It was PACKED, which is one massive downside, but since all my child really cared about was seeing the "real baby shark" it wasn't a huge deal as we mostly just spent time staring at the sharks and deciding which ones were mommy, daddy, and baby sharks. Overall it was a huge hit with her and the gift shop was also very affordable.

Honestly, it felt a bit pricey for what you get. I enjoyed it, but my son lost interest pretty quickly. It's worth a visit if you like aquariums, but I wouldn't call it a "must." Definitely cooler things to do in KC

I was very underwhelmed. I guess I was expecting more. It was definitely not worth the money spent.

So like, where are the fish? The minimum price is about $72 dollars for 3 people...not worth it, in my opinion. This place has the potential to be great, but there are hardly any fish! It's almost like they are operating at bare bones to keep the place open. Also, they don't accept cash. The aquarium in Branson is waaaaay better, far more colorful, and fully stocked!
