Would love to see these kiddos perform something current. I understand learning from some of the oldies but goodies but I've never observed anything current being publicly performed. Music doesn't live in the past, there's no market for these kids to be good at songs from the 1970's and 80's. Grow SOR, grow past old school music and evolve these kids into something they can do something with. Step out of the Billy Joel, Rolling Stones, Foreigner, ACDC , ect. and walk into the future of music.Response, Yep, I've been there many many mannnny times. I chose to do this review because I have been there, and to numerous shows over the last several years.

This is an excellent program!!!! The teachers are top notch and professional!!!!My child has been attending for almost a year. He has gained so many new friends and looks forward to every rehearsal and performance. He's a totally different kid since school of rock came into our lives. He's happy and confident. There's no doubt school of rock helped develop him into a talented young man. Parents run..do not walk... To sign your kids up!!!You will be so happy you did!!!!

The young woman at the front desk is not friendly. She was more focused on masks than music. I tried to make small talk several times and she blew me off. I was there 3X in one week and she "never recognized" me-acted as if we never met. Strange and a little concerning. The instructors are the reason for the 3 stars. They are remarkable. Prices are high and the structure of the program can be confusing. The concept is cool. We are taking private lessons at a local church. They are humble and value relationships. My son said he feels more comfortable than he did at the School of Rock.

We've been taking lessons here for three years and our son loves it. The staff is great with kids. I was surprised by open the staff was to letting them try different instruments during the shows. It's a very positive encouraging environment. You won't have to motivate your kids to practice once they are in the band program. They won't want to let down their friends by showing up to band practice un-prepared.

My daughter was hesitant about switching teachers, but the very first day she came out of her lessons talking about all of the things that James did to make learning fun, easier and more interesting. She talked about his amazing knowledge of music and how he can just listen to a song and play it (she was really impressed by that) without any sheet music and he has taught her how to play songs without switching cords so often. He's made her excited about playing her guitar again in a way that she hasn't really been in a long time. She's also excited about going to see the kids in concert. She's hesitant to join the Performance Band because she's only 10 and feels like a lot of the kids are older than her and she doesn't know them, but she wants to go and watch them in concert and see what it's like.

The students and teachers are very supportive of each other. The shows are a lot of fun. The students learn and grow so much over each semester. We could not be happier with David, Matt, Kyle, and the rest of the staff at SOR KC-Parkville!
