Let me tell you about my new favorite spot for hibachi! We walked in and were greeted with a nice server who sat us in one of their booths. The restaurant is small but the decor and ambience are very inviting. I saw the menu and was debating between the sushi options and the hibachi but I had to have the hibachi! It comes with soup, salad, veggies, rice, and your choice of meats. The salad and soup were good but my favorite starter was the gyoza! It was perfectly crispy on one side and the filling was actually packed with flavor! After tasting the gyoza I had high hopes for the hibachi and they did not disappoint. The veggies, rice, and meat were all seasoned perfectly and cooked very well! Before I knew it I had finished my plate. If you're looking for a good dinner, I would highly recommend stopping in here.

We loved this place! We hadn't had sushi in a while and haven't tried much since moving to KC. All of our food was delicious. I don't expect much from miso soup but I'd say it was the best I've ever had. We had some gyoza as well that was on. point. Great sear and great flavor. My only critique is the long wait on my Tokyo Roll, but I loved it. Great ingredients and I enjoyed the mango sauce. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!

Friends and I wanted sushi for lunch while in KC and upon a search, this place popped up. Called to make sure they could fit 6 and it wasn't a problem. Small little place with just a sushi bar and tables, no hibachi tables (that didn't matter to us as we just wanted sushi). We each a couple appetizers and each ordered approx 2-3 rolls. We had So. Much. Food. It was so good though. Our waitress was great, listened to our desires and questions and didn't forget anything. Great little spot!

I'll never understand why the simple request for water with lemon and no ice is such a difficult one to fulfill. But once again at this location, it certainly was an issue.Otherwise, my sushi selections were middle of the road they had no see urchin available, and the Gyoza was so so very doughy and over steamed. The service was quick, I never waited for anything. Which Innoway was a little scary made me wonder how long some foods might have been in process already? I likely won't be back again, mainly due to the fact that there are so many other choices in this area. The prices were reasonable the servers were friendly.

Good food, drinks AND atmosphere. Service was slow-as-a-sloth and highly disorganized. We were a Sushi MeetUp Group with an rsvp for 12 people at 6:30pm. We made the rsvp on Monday for Thursday because 'two weeks was too soon and the Monday before is when we need you to call'. Okay! Did that. We all (and I mean all 12) arrived at 6:30. Three got drinks and ordered food! Two more ordered drinks. Everyone got a menu after that. Eventually drink orders for everyone. Right away we drink 1-3 Saki while assuming aloud we will surely place orders soon. Twenty min later only two more ordered food. Finally seven more ordered. The food was just exactly right so I must rank the place 4 Stars for fantastic sushi but dang. We were there at Sawa 'Five-Ever'! THAT is even longer than forever. Lol.

Sawa sushi is an unassuming sushi restaurant tucked away along a busy road. The location is not the best, but the sushi is actually quite tasty! I have eaten at the restaurant, and I have also ordered take out. Both times were great - fresh fish, good rolls, and good menu. I would say their nigiri specifically are fantastic - they have an appropriate fish to sushi rice ratio, and the fish is always fresh, not too "fishy". Their sushi rolls are also prepared well, although I do wish they used a little more fish in each roll, especially when combined with avocado or cucumber - my salmon avocado roll was mostly avocado. Overall, this is an easy sushi restaurant with relatively quick service and chill vibes - worth a visit! They have plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant, although please be careful as cars are coming from all directions!

Amazing food and amazing service! Ever since the first time I stepped foot in Sawa i've enjoyed the darker ambiance. I've been coming here for about 3 months and there is never any inconsistency in service or food quality.
