My wife absolutely loves breakfast food so for Mothers Day we decided Savannah Family Restaurant would be perfect. Its out of the hustle and bustle of larger towns and all the times we had been there it has been enjoyable. Service is never awful, but some folks are more friendly than others. However on the particular Mothers Day we got to meet one of the most wretched people in the entire US food service industry. We had been waiting for fifteen minutes when three men came in and were promptly seated ahead of us. We asked the lady who was seating people and who happened to be the manager what happened. They dont do call ahead or reserved seating either. She just started yelling at us saying its first come and because its Mothers Day well just need to wait. We tried explaining to her we had been waiting, a mother and a baby on mothers day had indeed been waiting. She didnt care, she got belligerent so we took off. We tried calling later and it was the same lady who had somehow gotten even nastier. Im not sure if this place families, small children, veterans, outsiders or all of the above. They need to get over their biases. If not from round them parts best be avoidin!

Iv had very few things in my life as repulsive as this slop. The entire plate was canned gravy frozen cheap sausage pattys and biscuits i can only describe as cardboard at best. Resturants wonder why they can survive in a small town, its this exact reason. Between the sub par food and the 65yr old karen working there with just one of the worst attitudes iv seen in a while. Between the sub par food and smell of her fresh smoked cigarettes on her breath i couldnt .This place is selling warmed garbage. Starving kids around word would eat mud instead of this. The dogs wouldnt eat it. Long live chorizo con Pappas

If you are in town and need breakfast this is the place. They could use a little help with the pancakes but overall it's worth the stop,

Great place to dine! Food is fresh and tasty. Desserts are delicious. Service is excellent. Prices are very reasonable. Friday all-you-can-eat walleye is a fantastic meal, normally comes in a delicious, crispy, deep fried coating but you can also ask for it grilled which is excellent. If you like walleye this is about as close as you can get to a fresh caught walleye shore lunch from one of ours or Canada's northern lakes.

The menu is very affordable. It is a huge menu that serves almost all types of typical diner food. The burgers are big & pretty good for the price. They are not homemade Pattie's, but whatever one they have chosen to buy for the business is pretty good. The soups are not very good, not sure on the biscuits & gravy. My husband always orders the horseshoe & I don't know why. It's literally a slice of bread with a hamburger patty, & cheesy French fries on top. I think they might even put gravy on it. It tastes disgusting to me. But my husband grew up on this type of food. The salads are large & pretty good. You get a lot for your money. Be prepared to wait for a table though because they are understaffed every time we want to go. If you are not from this small area, the whole restaurant looks at you as you walk in. Very weird. I have only ordered the hamburger, fries, & salads. I like them so I will just stick to that.

We went for breakfast. The reviews are harsh... I am so sorry they had such bad luck. The parking lot was full. So we gave it a try. The pancakes, fried eggs and omelet all were tasty, potato hash browns were cooked to order. Only downside was the bacon was extra crispy, my bad for not specifying. The waitress was attentive. I have learned from the one before us to ask if gravy is homemade, but with so many choices that I didn't get biscuits and gravy. Probably would not go there again.

I've ate here multiple times wanting to support the local community, each time hoping the food will be better next time. This time I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, the chicken was very tough and tasted like a bbq grill, the spaghetti sauce was almost nonexistent and was more of a soup. The only reason I've still continued to eat here is because they're one of the only places to eat in Savannah, but I've come to realize I can cook myself a meal that I'll actually eat for a fraction of the cost. If you're wanting to enjoy your food dine elsewhere.

I used to eat here once a week, but I won't be back again. The quality of the food has declined a lot. The last four times I've eaten there it gave me explosive diarrhea. Can't see this place lasting much longer.
