Going to this festival after a year pandemic and Covid, this was a nice DAY TIME EVENT. Wouldn't suggest going during the night when things can get a little rowdy with the younger crowds. During the day, we luckily found a spot that was near by to park, otherwise there's paid parking spots like $5-$10 super close or park in a neighborhood and walk. Lots of people during the day, the smell of fry foods and kettle popcorn makes me reminiscence the good ole days. Some vendors I would like to see aren't there like usual, but can't go wrong with home made Root Beer, turkey legs, and some new food spots of UCE Kitchen and lots of shave ice vendors during these hot days. Love the little market of arts and crafts. Got some cute buttons and other home made goodies to take home. Support Local.

Crazy good Redneck fun. Live country music, singer soooo drunk couldn't remember the words, said as much and gave the mic to the crowd bahahaha! Band was fantastically entertaining covering everything from today's country hits, Johnny Cash, Black Crowes, Green Day to Katy Perry with a twang.During the day, couple of stages for local live artist and childern's performing groups to belly dancers can be found. At night on the big stage are the rock/country bands. FOOD was all over the map and just what you hope for a midwest festival. BBQ, frozen lemonade, fried twinkies, cotton candy, Jambalaya, roasted nuts, frozen slush wine, nachos, gyros, kettle corn and on and onCrafting tents with no end in sight, bonafide carnival ferris wheel surrounded by games and classic rides. Best PEOPLE WATCHING evah. A sensory overload in the best kind of way and it's still FREE entry, FREE entertainment. It's every September during Labor Day weekend, rain or shine.Parking can be rough, almost all surrounding parking lots have a spot for $5-10, if your willing to search and walk maybe one can found for free.

This is a great festival for families to get out and enjoy time together. As Independenxe continues to become a rougher city, there seems to be more issues with violence at the event. I know this scares away many who would otherwise come. This year we went with our family and some friends from out of town. They enjoyed the carnival rides and as always there is great food.If we could be confident that security was better, it would turn into a much better event.

Love Santa Caligon Days. Hate that they now charge $1 per person to ride the bus each way from the Community of Christ parking lot. This new fee makes it cheaper to park and walk from a parking spot by the event if there are very many people traveling with you.

Great place to get unique craft items. You must get there before the crowds though. Also a great carnival for the kids to enjoy!

We have been attending Santa-Cali-Gon for 20+ years but this year was really a sad year. Probably our last time! They used to have so many vendors (locals) up and down both sides of all of the streets but this year it seemed almost empty and only lined up around the square. Most of the usual's have left and Dr Fogworths root beer said this is their last year (they have been there for over 30 years) because it now costs too much to get a space/insurance. It appears the city is killing the festival trying to make more $$$ off the vendors. We could not find 4 of the vendors we usually visit and with more leaving there are other places to visit over a holiday weekend. Sad to see this go down hill so fast, but I guess they are in it for the money now!

As a vendor at Santacaligon we are treated very poorly. They gave my normal space away & kept my money. They also kept the insurance money that they charge....even though I wasn't there to be insured.
