Best non-buffet Indian in KC, JUST lightly edging out Moti Mahal on Barry Road because Sahara's naan is always fluffy and flavorful. I am not an expert with Indian food, but I know I prefer Punjabi flavors, so use that as you will to help you gauge this review. The interior is very casual, so it may not be good for super romantic dates unless you're both foodies, but it's great for friends who care more about delicious food than ambiance. The prices are pretty average compared to other Indian places, but are still kind of considered a splurge for me.They do have a shared parking lot, and plenty of parking in the lot right next to them, so you'll never have to worry about parking. Overall, I'd highly recommend! (Note: I think the veggie pakoras are better at Swagat, and the veggie samosas better at Moti Mahal.)

Sahara Fine Indian is a fantastic spot for anyone craving flavorful Indian cuisine. The Veggie Pakora was a perfect start--crispy, light, and packed with savory vegetables, making it an ideal appetizer. For the main course, the Butter Chicken was absolutely delicious--creamy, rich, and full of flavor, with just the right amount of spice. The Chicken Tandoori was another highlight--tender, juicy, and perfectly charred, with a smoky, aromatic flavor that's hard to beat.Overall, Sahara Fine Indian offers an exceptional dining experience with well-seasoned dishes and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch Indian food!

I've been in Kansas City, right by the airport, for the last couple of months. In that time I fell in love with Sahara Fine Indian Cuisine. I tried a few Indian places, including one I think less than a mile away from Sahara. Well I never tried any of the others more than once because once I tried Sahara I found the one I wanted. My primary order was their Chicken Saag. I like Saag in general and have had it a several different Indian restaurants in several different places across the western U.S.. I think Sahara's Saag is the best I've tried. In fact, when I was home over a weekend after being in KC for a while I ordered Saag from one of my old favorites (Bombay Garden in West Jordan, UT) and I was very disappointed. Sahara's version had better texture, better flavor by a lot, and brought the heat that I asked for.I highly encourage people reading this to skip the Tikka Masala or Butter Chicken just this one time and try an order of Chicken Saag or even Lamb Vindaloo. Especially if you're ordering from Sahara Fine Indian Cuisine because they make some of the best around. Not just around KC, but around the U.S. west of the Mississippi.

Wasn't expecting to find high quality Indian food in Kansas City, but the chicken tikka met my expectations. Food was still hot after I ordered delivery. Very creamy and paired very nicely with the garlic naan! More than enough sauce to mix with the rice too.

Found this spot on Yelp. Location is perfect and near other shopping area. Didn't know what to expect, but parking was great, we park right in front. When entering the place, it was packed and you can smell the aroma of Indian food here. This was our first time here and our first Indian food together. It consisted Veggie Pakora, Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Curry, Rice, 2 Plain Naan( fluffiest ever), Kheer or Gulab Jamun. Every thing was delish and we even had extra to take home for leftovers. It was more than enough for two. I would definitely come back again. Perfect date night spot as well.

I came up here last week and placed an order for takeout. I waited probably about 10-15 minutes. The people were nice and you can tell it's very much a family ran small business. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and my only complaint would be a bit more spice. I ordered medium and it seemed very mild. The naan and rice were good. Overall, I'd come back when we're back in town and I'm craving Indian but a little spice would have elevated this meal for me :)I should also mention that the place was packed on a Thursday night and that was good to see. Even better that they were able to keep up with orders quickly!

Delicious dinner! I had the tandoori chicken. Love the crackers and dips served on the table. The rice was very light and fluffy. Want to try the chi tea next time.

This place is just way too good. Some of the best Indian food I've had in the Kansas City area and glad it's fairly close to home. Didn't know what to expect but it's a very casual place that's great for dates or a group dinner. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is super delicious. We didn't know what to get so we got the dinner for two. They also have a dinner for 3 and 4 but the dinner for two could probably feed 3 people comfortably because we had plenty of leftovers which still tasted great the next day. The dinner combos allows you to try a variety of dishes which is great. We got to try the veggie pakora for appetizer, and the main courses were tandoori chicken, Tikka masala, lamb curry served with basmati rice and naan. Everything was super flavorful and nicely portioned. The naan was also some of the fluffiest naan I've ever had. For dessert with had kheer and gulab jamun but I definitely liked the kheer way more! Looking forward to coming back here again.

Location: North Kansas City. Close to Tiffany springsAmbiance: indoor seating, nothing fancy, it feels like being a guest in a houseFood: They are from Punjab, Northern India, so I really recommend getting a vegetarian entrée. However, I also got the butter chicken, and it was delicious.Naan was perfectly cooked. And for an order, you get at least 4 big pieces.Coconut soup was ok, not additional flavors to itRice perfectly cookedService: This place truly feels like a locally owned restaurant. They serve you with a smile in their faces all the time. They are always checking on you, making sure you get all you need, outstanding.Yelp factor: this place is always busy. Their high-quality food and unbeatable prices make it a 6 option for indian food in North Kansas city.I can't wait to go back there.

First they start you off with a tasty appetizer- included with meal. I ordered the lamb Rogan Josh... it was excellent. Tender, flavorful, not too spicy. (Beware... a 6/10 will still make you sweat!).I really enjoyed their attention to detail and care put into their food and service. Would love to come back.
