One of my favorite locations! There are so many brunch options with great portions for pricing!I loved their breakfast plate because it had a side of gravy for the biscuit, so you could use as much, or as little, as you want. My friend ordered the French toast and absolutely loved all of the flavors!

Popped in for happy hour recently. The happy hour drink specials were nicely priced. Not a lot of food specials. The best happy hour deal is a slice of pie for $5. I had the Dutch apple. Thinly sliced apples with caramel sauce and homemade whipped cream. It was served warm. The crust was so buttery and flaky. So good.Disappointed in lack of vegetarian and gf options. Ordered the wedge salad no bacon it was delicious and the crab ravioli with sweet potatoe puree. It was meh. Couldn't really taste or even see the crab. The sweet potatoe puree over powered all the other flavors. My friend had the chicken livers and she loves them. Stephan was our server. He was great. While I was underwhelmed with my meal the service and vibe were inviting. I'd def go back for the pie.

This whipped goat cheese is incredible. Covered in honey and spread on a delicious piece of toast. Perfection. They serve it with some dressed greens with fennel and shallot and it's so so so good. There is also some cured meat (I can't recall what it is) but it's so good with the sweet honey. I got it to go this time and it was just as fabulous as I remember. Love love love.

What a lovely place! My dining companion, and I had a wonderful lunch here on a Thursday in the spring and it was delightful. Our server never gave us her name, but she was lovely. The ambience here is very fine and the food was just delicious! I would recommend Rye anyone. We both had the fried chicken salad to which they had recently added strawberries, in addition to the goat cheese, rhubarb, and spinach. it was lovely as worthy free range deviled eggs. I will be back and I will bring my wife. Delightful!

This place is only getting two stars from me because their French toast is really good but everything else didn't live up to the hype.I have been hearing about Rye for a long time, It's a favorite among many that I know including Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, so I decided to give their brunch a try rather than food.I ordered their Pecan Fried Chicken and French toast. Their fried chicken, yes I liked cause it is strips but flavor...hello, where are you? This was the most bland chicken I have ever had. When I asked for honey mustard the server told me they didn't have any but I could make my own...what?!? She said the chef wouldn't make it but she could bring Dijon mustard and mayo out for me to make it MYSELF. If I wanted to cook or make things, I would've stayed at home, so I declined and asked for ketchup. The French Toast was one of the best that I have had at a restaurant. The plate had scattered pecan and granola clusters and they were tasty.I also ordered the smoked salmon with eggs Benedict and a mixed green fennel salad. The salmon was very scarce. The English muffin the eggs Benedict were sitting on was hard as a rock. The salad was flavorful!Their shining star are their pastries and I was blown away by their cinnamon roll, it was fantastic. I will be back for that, but anything else no thank you. They need to learn their seasonings. Also for comfort food they are way too overpriced.

Rye Leawood is a consistent option if you'll be staying in suburbia and would like to have a satisfying meal with good service. The French Blonde, Gimme Shelter, Rhubarb Gin Spritz and Coffee & Cigarettes were the cocktails enjoyed by our table that we all tasted.Roasted Red Beets Salad add Chicken is a great choice if you want to continue the evening after a light meal and frankly, we realized we should have shared one between two girls as the portion is very generous.Ambiance-wise on a Saturday night was 60 to 75-year olds mixed with our table of 30's/40's ladies and a few tables of prom kids so quite random.

I have been here several times now and once for my birthday. I do enjoy coming here for a nicer night out since they have something on the menu for everyone. They make some great appetizers and dinner and drink menu. I would say some menu items are better than others since I was underwhelmed by their fried chicken (even though it was highly recommended). The service is fairly average but the environment feels more upscale which the prices can indicate. Overall it's a great place to go to for any occasion and I do plan on coming back for years to come.

We visited last month for a date night the weekend of the Super Bowl and a few days before Valentine's Day. It was hubby's first time and my second time in a few years. If you are a fan of the original location on the Plaza, here is an overview of our experience at this location:Location: 9/10 Rye is located in upscale Mission Farms off of 435. This area is robust for their shopping and other eating options. It is a great place for date night or happy hour with friends. Parking is plentiful but can be a bit tricky during peak times. Customer Service 8.5/10 We arrived right before the dinner rush on a Saturday evening, so the crowd was moderately crowded. The hostess was welcoming and friendly and we were seated quickly. There was not a lot of diversity among the staff, which could use some improvement. Our server was very sweet and accommodating. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and kept our waters filled.Flashlights Required: 4/10 Ambiance and good music is a plus. We enjoy the open concept kitchen that you can peer into, which was cool. However, ambiance can be compromised when you have other patrons pulling out their phone flashlights to see the menu. They can definitely undim the up-lighting so people are not struggling to read the menu or see their partner's face.Food: 4/10 We waited a while for the food to come, but that is because they make it to order. My husband and I ordered the fried chicken and got shareable sides - mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. The food was hot, fresh and it had good flavor but the sides were definitely NOT shareable. We appreciated the large and generous chicken portions - you get three large pieces of chicken each. Though the coating had an okay flavor, the chicken itself lacked flavor and was pretty dry. The mashed potatoes definitely needed the gravy and the mac and cheese was pretty mid. The sides were $10.75 each! We also would have appreciated getting bread with our meal. Our meal was well over $130, which was not worth it at all. Maybe the portion sizes of the sides increasing would make it worth it, but wow.Overall: 6.5/10 The low rating is for the price of the meal. The food is way overpriced for what it is. The fried chicken had an okay flavor, but the sizes of the sides do not match the price point. For us, this would not be a place we come to often, unless it were for a happy hour and small plates. It is a lovely restaurant in a great location, but it will be quite some time before we visit again.

Food - consistently good but Expensive!Service - very good attentive but not overbearingAmbiance - steak house vibesRye in KC - plaza or Mission Farms is one heck of a steakhouse restaurant.Hadn't been here in over a year due to their egregiously inflated steak prices, even as of 3/3/2024.For brunch (ryekc.com) best value is the Rye Breakfast but this time I got the Steak and Eggs.Super flank steak, cooked to your liking, sliced into 10 pieces.Comes with a killer Pesto Sauce, and two eggs made how you want.Their coffee is tasty however you like your coffee, with or w/o sugar and cream.Their pie is better than Tippens/Pippens for those of you who recall that historical KC brand. My only beef with them, IMHO, is their 80$ steak prices, as of this writing, both J.Gilberts AND Capitol Grill are less expensive/ better value for the price.
