It's funny, after dozens and dozens of trips to the Nelson, I finally ate at Rozzelle Court.**Snuck bites off my kids snacks and ate the leftovers. This beautiful restaurant is in the middle of the Nelson, surrounded with Roman architecture and sky high ceilings. It's a total vibe. The ordering process is similar to a cafeteria except servers bring the food to you. We were trying to extend our museum trip and keep the hangriness at bay for the girls, so our order was kinda funny:-Lemon protein balls; delicious, tasted like dessert and kids ate them up.-Dot's Pretzels; where have I been these are delicious-An apple and an orange-Some baguette with jam and butterIt all worked wonderfully and hit the spot. I'm sure we'll do a more substantial meal there sometime as we come to the Nelson quite regularly, especially in the winter. Beautiful spot, friendly folks, and pretty good food for a museum restaurant.

Looking for a dining experience that combines elegance, light lunch fare, and ample seating? Look no further than Rozelle Court in the Nelson Atkins Museum! A charming restaurant in the central courtyard of the museum. The food options are plentiful with allergen-friendly selections available and light pastries if you want something simple. You order from the cashier and find a spot with plenty of open seating. A server will bring your food, but you'll need to keep your water glass full at a watering station. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. I had their chicken taquitos with cilantro rice and hibiscus iced tea. My friend had a scone with tea and said the scone was flavorful and fluffy.I personally wouldn't go to Rozelle Court for the food but the entire experience. It's a welcome oasis after you've perused Nelson Atkins and leaves you refreshed to keep going. Cheers to good food, good company, and unforgettable moments!

We had a beautiful day gorging our eyes on beautiful artwork from many different eras, geographic locations, techniques, and cultures and continued to feast our eyes on our courtyard meal!It was slightly pricey - but pretty much everything is nowadays, but tasted amazing, came out in a reasonable time and was served with great service! It's a stand-in-line to purchase, then receive table service after that, kind of place. They had multiple dishes out in display so you can know what to expect. Our chocolate espresso cake was yummy, but tasted and felt like it had been sitting, uncovered, in a fridge for a while. It was stiff and the textured cream was probably a bit more dry and chewy than originally designed.Tomato basil soup!! Hands down - amazing and perfectly warm.Waldorf Turkey Sandwich - Bleu Cheese, Spiced Walnut and Celery Relish, Red Onion, Apples, F2M Pumpernickel Bread, Served with a Side of House Chips - what an amazing mix of flavors and textures!Latte - no complaints. So smooth. Delicious.Thank you for a great experience!

Its so beautiful here! The museum has some exquisite pieces and the restaurant inside is a sight to see, as well. My kids actually didnt care about any of the art and only wanted to come to this restaurant with the fountain (so make this your last stop...) They have high chairs for kids and kid menu items as well. There are many food choice options depending if you want light or heavy. Prices are reasonable. We ordered the prime rib Benedict, fall harvest salad and gourmet grilled cheese for the kids. The fall harvest salad was heavier on the arugula than the farro. I thought it would be a farro bowl. It was still good, the dried pomegranates gave explosive sweet flavor. The sweet potatoes in it were delicious too. The kids liked the grilled cheese. It was very crispy and it also came with chips and a pickle. The prime rib benedict sauce was good but the meat was a bit dry but not bad. Very picturesque though. We would definitely bring our family here again.

We are members of the Nelson art gallery and we always enjoy eating here or having a cup of coffee. The problem is, they are always woefully understaffed. The line was a line of about 20 to 25 people at 1 PM on a Saturday and they had one person working the cash register and taking orders to about 4-5 servers. I waited 20 to 30 minutes in line to place my order and then it was another 10 minutes or so before it got to the table. Really they are understaffed and need to do better.

You cannot beat the atmosphere or food here. Mix in great service and this place really earns its five star rating. Server Miles is an absolute delight. Great way to support a free museum too.

Party of ten. We met at the info desk then meander to the restaurant. FUEL sweet potato hummus & chips and blk current scone for dessert. Absolutely no complaints.ATMOSPHERE the courtyard had indulgent antique architecture with visually appealing details. Good space for mobility device. Look at the ceiling.SERVICE long line moved quickly. They provide utensils & number card. Staff helped me to the table. Altogether this is good vibes (I was a bit chilled, so bring a cardigan). I'd recommend for excellent food for families, girls groups, elders, tourists, first date or steady. Enjoy!

We stopped in for lunch and our mouths were watering for a hearty meal, but alas we missed the end of the lunch our by 11 minutes. But to our delight they had cafe style options available. So while we'd have love an accompaniment of small sandwiches and thin pancakes like they do in France we settled for Croissants and cakes which we paired with a latte and lemonade. The relaxed scenery was welcomed following a feast of contemporary art on the entry level. We'll have to come back for more and the full lunch menu.

For museum food it's pretty good. We've eaten here several times and haven't been disappointed. The only thing I'll complain about is that the soup doesn't come with crackers or bread and the service is sub par. You come here for the ambiance not for the great service. The view makes up for the young servers attitudes.
