Roselyn’s First City Bakery

Not a fan of the pizza, pasta or baked goods. Touted as being "real, authentic NY pizza"... however, since I am from NY, I don't know when a cracker crust became a "NY style" crust. The baked goods are ok- the cannolis are good, but expensive. The pasta wasn't really anything to write home about. But, that said, I understand everything is handmade, but just not my taste. You can get fresh sliced Italian meats here though, to include prosciutto, salami and mortadella. Owner is nice.

The pizza was on point here! I got the small and it is definitely good for 2 (average) people! Delicious!! And it was hard to only pick one dessert...the desserts are super reasonably priced too! Can't wait to go back and try more of their food!!

Holy Cannoli!!! This new business just opened Thanksgiving week. Being a lover of all things cannoli I had to stop in. "Build your own cannoli "? What?!? How fun! Choose between regular or chocolate shells, fillings of traditional cannoli cream, Nutella cream, chocolate pudding, and vanilla then dip ends in sprinkles, pistachios, jimmies or colored coconut. Our order got a bit mixed up but unfortunately we did not did cover it till we got home. The shells were very good, crisp and light and the filling was tasty however it was not fully filled ( disappointment) Due to the mess up on the order and the lack of filling Ivan only give 3 stars

What to say about this hidden gem!I've tried a little this, a little that and EVERY time...I end up having a new favorite Right now, it's the Pistachio Torte.Previously it was Chocolate Cream Puffs.There's ALWAYS something new, rich, flavorful to sample there that becomes a quick favorite!

It was advertised that their pizza was similar to what you'd get in New York but that was far from the case. In fact, it was probably some of the worst pizza I've experienced in quite some time. And the expensive price didn't help matters at all. The staff seems friendly and from what I've heard, the desserts are decent. I'd just stay away from their food..

So .... it has been a few days since I stopped at this bakery for the first time. What that means is I have really been thinking on how to fairly review Roselyn's Bakery. We noticed this shop as we were driving down Deleware based on signs out front showing fresh cannoli's. So we found a parking spot and walked across the street. Entrance is sort of tricky as you need to enter in the same front as the Tune Shop, just go in the door on the left. So I go in with the intent to buy a few cannoli's and as I didn't see any in the cooler, I ended up with a slice of Oreo's and Cream cheesecake. The bakery smelled of sugar and goodness, it was clean, and the staff friendly. Here is the deal, 2 slices of cheesecake and a soda later, with a discount, total was over $17. At home, I waited patiently to dig in to the cheesecake and when I did I was not overly impressed. It is not dense but fluffy like out of a box type cheesecake. Had a bitter aftertaste, but the topping and crust were both good. But at the price point per slice I was expecting far better. I believe the type/style of cheesecake depends on your personal pallet, but if you enjoy a traditional New York style, this is not the same. I would recommend this place to others, and in fairness Roselyn's does serve much more than just cheesecake so it is not fair to rate negatively on just one slice of cheesecake!! Soon, very soon, going to head back in and get a few cannoli's!!!!

My go-to place before I go for my walk by the river. Their Gelato is delicious and they serve them in the perfect size containers. So far I've tried the Gelato, Italian ice, and cannolis. My husband can't get enough of their mini cheesecakes and he doesn't even eat desserts typically. I highly suggest visiting their Facebook page to stay updated on what they offer because they are constantly adding to the menu. They do sell Italian lunch/dinner food that looks amazing but I haven't tried any yet. I did notice they have new employees that need ALOT of training so make sure you go with patience.

Ok let me say this! .... I'm from Jersey, and my father is from Sicily. When I tell you I don't go out to eat Italian food because my father makes it better then any restaurant and I'm just disappointed in the quality when I go out to eat Italian food, so I just don't. That is how picky I am.These cannolis hit the spot!!!!! They are close to home that you can get! Who would have thought that in the small town of Leavenworth,KS I would find the best cannolis since leaving the Jersey/NYC/Philly tristate area! I mean they are not overly sweet (which is the problem with most cannolis people tend to just make them overly sweet) they are fresh, they taste amazing. I am very thrilled I found this place. Makes me feel like I'm back at home. I highly recommend the cannolis and tiramisu. I have not had the lunch there yet but I will be stopping by for sure.PS i read soMe of the reviews below and it seems like y'all are not use to bakery etiquette...especially when it comes to great tasting cannolis so let me pass on some advice .... I know to always call a baKery AHEAD OF TIME BEOFREEEEE HEADING THAT WAY. I do this because most great bakeries run out of there popular items really fast. Coming from the jersey area I did this all the time. So it was 4:30 pm when I called and since they closed 5 I contacted the bakery ahead of time to ask if they still had cannolis ! And they said yes and I swing right over. They owner was so nice that he even helped me pick the most Freahes ones instead of the ones that were out all day..Therefore, call before heading over it's lIke bakery customer etiquette 101.But don't give poor reviews for not even calling and getting there and they are sold out and you are upset without even trying anything. I mean they have good pastries sooo eXpect them to be sold out. ;)

Me and a friend came intentionally to get cannolis. When we got there my friend saw that they sell prepackaged pasta. She got a pan of lasagna. She said it was not anything to write home about. She liked stouffer's better. Cannoli was okay. I took one bite. The tiramisu was good. Ate the entire thing. And it's the only reason for three instead of two stars. But seemed like something I can follow a recipe to make versus other tiramisu that tastes perfect like some Italian grandma made it and you could never replicate it.

My husband and I have visited twice. Our first visit we wanted to try the cheesecake. There were many different cookies and other treat as well in the case, but no prices. No prices were listed anywhere for individual slices of cheesecake. They had cannoli cheesecake that day. That sounded wonderful. I asked for a piece to go and my husband got a piece of pre-sliced lemon. When we got home and opened my box my slice was just a pile of mush. The crust was yummy. The cheesecake was not set up at all. I wouldn't have served to a customer. Our next visit was with a group. There were several of us. I had hoped that maybe our earlier visit was just a case of ironing out new business kinks. We had been very active outdoors so we were very thirsty. Our drink orders we taken and brought, but we never got an offer of a refill. One person ordered tea and was brought sweet tea without being asked. Another person was asked which they'd like. We were served lasagna and some of our party was missed. We had to point those folks out to the server. Once our food was served, we were never checked on again My husband wanted to try something in the case and neither of the young ladies could find the mini cheesecakes in the case. We had to show them. Still no prices for items in case. The lasagna was ok. I really liked the filling. I want to like this place. I really do! I just worry for them. We have a successful place that does cheesecake in our community. We have two extremely successful businesses that specialize in cookies and cupcakes. We have a successful Italian restaurant. Small businesses in our community do best when they focus on something that patrons can't get down the street or around the corner. I hope these owners find their niche and something that is completely unique to them. Then they can focus on that being amazing and succeed. Maybe a white board or sign with prices of everything you sell. Not just prices for pasta and whole cheesecakes. I really do want them to succeed!!!
