Rosehill Gardens

Hired to install an irrigation system and a lawn renovation in the fall of 2022. Had several issues with the irrigation install and they did come out to fix those. Credit to them for that. The lawn renovation was overpriced for the work that was done, in my opinion.The reason for my 3/5 review is mostly due to their communication. They are not great with this aspect of their work. I've left several unreturned voicemails and they all were time sensitive for work being done. Never received a call back. The only way to get a response is to call continually or vocalize a complaint. After both jobs the people doing the work left without a word said to me. No after care or instruction on next steps. No inspection of work. No approval from me as the customer. Nothing. This is not on the responsibility of the laborers themselves but rather the department and project managers. The work is mid-level but they did fix prior errors. I will not be hiring this company again. Their price point is much higher than the small shops. That would be justified if the quality of their work or the standard of their service was much higher. Regrettably neither aspect is true. Lastly, I would not be as unsatisfied if the jobs I hired for were much small or less expensive but I paid $7,500 in one summer with Rosehill. That is no small investment for a residential property. I don't expect preferential treatment but I do expect more than received based on what I paid.

WOW, and WOW, our experience started with WOW and ended with WOW. From our first meeting with the sales team and landscaping designers to the end result, we now have the most fantastic yard in Kansas City; Rosehill crushed every detail. Rosehill and their team were a shining ray of sunshine every day during the process. They answered every question, responded to every text, and returned every call. If you need landscaping, save time and energy looking around, go directly to Rosehill.

Words honestly can't describe the amazing job this company did on our back yard last fall, they literally transformed our backyard from a flat heap of nothingness to the most amazing backyard that makes us feel like we've been transported to the mountains. Tom was so skilled and took the time to really get to know us and what we wanted, and the vision he came up with was exactly what we'd wanted but couldn't put into words! His crew was unbelievably professional and took a lot of pride in their work. He kept us completely informed and made sure we were happy every step of the way. My husband and I were shocked at the finished product and 5 months later we are still so excited to get to look at this everyday! Hands down, Rosehill (and hopefully Tom) will handle the landscaping on every project we have in the future. It really shows that this is a 100 yr old company - they know what they're doing! (Also the weeping Alaskan Cedar was switched out for another pine, but I don't have a picture of that handy )We're so excited watching everything start to bloom again now!

We couldn't be happier with Rosehill Gardens and have used them for over five years at two homes and four different projects in that time. The landscape designs are always beautiful, the plant material is the best in the city and they are responsive and kind. I cannot recommend them more highly if you are looking to complete an elite landscape renovation at your home. Recently, a negative review was posted by our neighbor, Sabrina. We are the neighbors in question in that review and to my knowledge she has never used Rosehill Gardens for any work at her present home. Her dispute is over a four-corners survey that was done which resulted in no change whatsoever to our original plans for a fence. This fence was placed in the exact same location it was always planned to be. Additionally, they were informed of its location weeks in advance. We attempted to work with these neighbors to settle their concerns, but after walking them down the future fence line on multiple occasions they chose to spend money of their own on a second survey in spite of our assurances that the fence would be clearly placed well onto our property regardless of any survey result. Lastly, there is no dispute as far as we are concerned and Rosehill is in no way responsible for whatever dispute they feel exists.

Rosehill Gardens has worked with us on multiple projects and the results are consistently stunning. Steve is a great listener who understands what we are looking for and makes it reality -- but he also helps us think outside of our comfort zone. We're always glad that he does! Currently, we're working on our largest project yet. Normally, this might be very stressful but our experience with Rosehill continues to be great. Even though the project isn't complete yet (but it is on schedule!), we've already received many compliments from several of our neighbors who love the creative and beautiful ways Rosehill addressed challenges for our sloping yard as we install a pool. I always tell them that Rosehill is a joy to work with in the planning AND execution stage. They are consistently fair and committed to our satisfaction. I would recommend them without hesitation, and in fact have many times.

We had an unpleasant experience with Rosehill. When Gary came out to discuss our needs I clearly told him that the previous owner had overplanted and we knew it would be sparse in the beginning, but we did not want it overplanted. There were three areas that we were working on and one of the three is great. The other two we had to dig out plants within a few years do to major overcrowding. The goal here is to run up the cost of the project.We also had an issue with a sprinkler head that needed to be raised up. We had asked them for another proposal for another area and Gary said that the irrigation work was completed and they were not going to do the small minor repair as that was on us. I informed him that we were currently looking at doing additional business with him at the time and the answer was still a no. Look elsewhere for your landscaping needs!

A little bit of everything for the yard, garden, and pots. Great plants with 2 year guarantee! A little pricey, but worth the money. Very helpful staff with solutions for common problems and good suggestions. Check them out.

Not happy with my service for a sprinkler system repair. The repairman tracked mud into my house for one. He couldn't complete the job that same day and agreed to come back the next week to finish (it was on a Friday of a holiday weekend). That is fine, but he never came back. By the time we realized he wasn't coming back, we didn't want to continue to use the company and figured we'd find a different one. We received a bill a month later in the mail, still no call. I called to explain to them what happened and discuss my concerns. They were not apologetic at all, and said they could not send out a different repairman, but they could send a "higher up" person with him. When I asked if there were notes from the last visit, since we already were being charged for an hour of work that was "done", she said no. We declined to have them come back, as we don't want to use a company that charged us for an hour of work that wasn't followed up with and no notes made, and caused us to get our carpets cleaned due to mud all down the stairs. Never apologized, no discount offered, and were defensive. Poor customer service.

Very disappointed. Spent a fortune with this company. I made the mistake of admitting my lack of knowledge when it comes to landscaping and boy was I taken advantage of. Ugly spirea, some kind of bushes in back that have looked awful from day one. Gangly and are always just lying on the ground. Terrible crew that have no idea how to trim hedges. I'll be spending more money in the fall with another company to deal with this mess in my yard. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Thought I would get what I paid for as Rosehill Gardens is an established company and have been around a long time Boy was I wrong.

I requested an estimate, which I paid $100 for. Over a month passed and I made repeated attempts to reach the estimator. I finally called and complained to the office that no one was returning my calls. This was in February, so not their busy season. The next day he finally called, said he'd been busy, never apologizing. With this kind of service up front, I said to forget it and keep the money. I will not use or buy from Rosehill Gardens again.
