Roots KC

This is Roots KC's 3rd location! And it's next door to Betty Rae's! Amazing! I checked out the newest shop during their opening weekend and it was bustling. Like their other locations they offer a variety of plants, pots, soil, and even little fun trinkets like plant hats and stickers. If you purchase a plant and a pot, they'll go ahead and get it all ready to go for you. Or you can bring a plant from home for help with repotting. Or recommendations if you are a recovering brown thumb and you have a plant that isn't looking too hot. As someone with pets that constantly get into everything, I appreciate the pet safe table. All plants on this table are ASPCA certified safe for pets. So you don't have to google if it's safe or not while standing in the store. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They are next door to Betty Rae's and within walking distance to City Market so definitely check them out!

So glad there's another plant store in River Market outside of City Market, even though it's dangerous for my wallet! This is the smallest Roots location, but it's still packed to the brim with plants! I love that they always have a table with pet-safe plants to make it easy to keep your animals safe if they mess with plants. The staff is always super helpful and informative, and they will repot your plant for free if you buy a planter and a plant! My favorite part about roots is the little tchotchkes they have for your plants - tiny hats, tiny people, tiny mushrooms! So whimsical. I will say Roots is a bit more expensive than other plant stores in KC, but the plants are always so healthy and well taken care of.Located right on the streetcar route mere steps from the River Market West stop! There is some pie angle parking out front too.
