What a fun local store. We stopped in after lunch and got an adorable little pot and money tree. There are so many great options if you're looking to add to your plant collection. The pots are really colorful and fun, too. It's a bit pricey, but we are happy to support a small locally owned shop. The person who helped us was very knowledgeable and was a great resource while picking out the perfect plant. We look forward to visiting again!

I really enjoyed my visit today. I came in to get 2 plants I purchased repotted because buying soil and repotting is not my ministry. I found that RootsKc did this via a google reviewed called and they gave me instructions that I needed to bring them in which was super helpful because who knew wind would harm my plants (not me). I didn't catch her name that helped me but she was super helpful and provided a lot of guidance and guidance and information. I will definitely be back because their plant merch was super cute. The prices weren't cheap but weren't to expensive either their plants look really healthy.

More than a plant shop. They have all kinds of local items you can purchase as gifts. They will also pot your plant and the container you choose. The major selling point of this shop is the area is in. You can stop by a plant, grab some coffee, and several different kinds of food. I must stop if you're in the west side.Guys, if you're looking for a unique gift for your lady... It's a slam dunk. A variety of things and the girls will help you pick out something that is sure to please.

Fantastic!! What a cute little store on a familiar corner. Great selection of unique plants at a wonderful value. A helpful employee willing to transplant your purchase into a pot for you and answer any questions you may have. Add in a rewards system and I'm all about this store. I always say, a bad day is made better with a new plant.

I love this little plant shop! The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. I also really enjoy that they group their plants. For example one table is per friendly, and another table are plants that don't need a bunch of sunlight. This organization of the plants lets me easily pick out plants for not only myself but for others. They also have such a great selection of plants! From moss balls for those that tend to kill plants to other rare plants for those who seem to have a thriving green thumb. There's also a great selection on price. Anyone with any budget will be able to find something. I also really appreciate that they offer interesting pots and other items. They have the cutest hats to add to your plants. It gives your plants some personality! I highly recommend anyone to visit rOOTS!

Normally an amazing experience but drove all the way there because it said 8pm close on Friday and they were closed at 7pm. Please change this on google maps!

Roots opened this storefront in Westside about 6 months ago, and it's fun every time I go! They focus mainly on tropical plants, so they have a lot of really interesting stuff. Tbh I come here mostly for plant hats. They have adorable seasonal hats that you can put on your plants, and they're not cheap, but I can't resist. The plants are all super well cared for, but the plants here are a little more expensive than other local plant shops, I must say. They definitely have some of the most interesting and unique planters/pots in town from lots of local and non local artists. On Friday nights, they'll often have small events where they give out free alcohol and have some snacks for purchase, which is super fun. Good for a First Friday experience. They do classes and events too (like a terrarium workshop!) The staff is always super nice and helpful! Parking is sometimes a struggle in Westside, so you're mostly relying on side street parking. But worth it to make the journey to Roots! They also have a stall on the 3rd floor of Bella Patina, so definitely check that out on a First Friday in the West Bottoms!

Locals may know this name from their history of popping up all over KC, but they also have their own beautiful spaces full of "Cool Plants for Cool People." Not just a clever tagline, during my visits, I lose count of how many times I say, "This place is so cool!" And while I don't consider myself super cool, this tropical oasis has me beLEAFing it. Admittedly, I have a history of being a black thumb girly, but the customizable format of rOOTS gives me confidence I can change that! At rOOTS, every plant has a QR code for you to scan for information, care instructions, and a contact for additional support. You can also get your plant professionally potted at no charge. It literally takes out all the guesswork and will have you saying, "You grow!" In addition to dozens of plant varieties and pots, they have plant accessories, home goods, and gifts. And they host events EVERY week, so be sure you're following them to see what fun they have planned. So who's with me in becoming KC's newest plant parent?! I'm ROOTing for you!

Conveniently located in a spacious, airy corner shop at the intersection of Madison and W 17th, it makes it easy to stop in after grabbing a coffee or lunch across the street. Local and family owned, you've gotta check this place out next time you need some greens.
