River Market Dog Park

My pup, Desmond and I stumbled upon this great dog park in the River Market one day while meandering through town on a gorgeous day. It's right next to the highway and slightly off the beaten path, but it makes for a much larger area for a dog park than you would expect in a downtown area. There are some benches to relax on and trees to give you some shade. There are poop bag dispensers/trash cans for convenience. There were quite a few dogs there Desmond got to run around and get some extra energy out with; he loved it. Great spot to let the pooches off the leash for a bit!

I both love and hate this dog park. Why? I'll tell you why.Love: This park is free, quite large given its location, and the fellow dog owners that go there are very respectful and courteous. Hate: There is no source of water for you or your dogs. Also, it can get really muddy whenever it has recently rained. It could also use more lighting. Ultimately, I do love this dog park and go there a few times a week, I do not recommend it if the ground is wet unless you want a real dirty dog.
