A favorite happy hour haunt...my work pals and I call this place "Paradise" for a reason, and it's not , unbelievably, just because it has dirt cheap draught beer and a guy who frequently comes in with his adorable Boston terrier that apparently has the run of the bar...it's because the bartenders are soooo freakin' nice (and the regulars put up with our loud antics). Who else will let you run a tab to order 75-cent draws? The overall feel is like being in somebody's basement rec room...if they have a juke box in said rec room filled with Tom Waits and Ramones stuff and smoke a lot of Basic Lights. It ain't fancy...I believe the lot is gravel, and it's the sort of place where the "top shelf" liquor might just be brown liquid in a clear bottle with a piece of masking tape marked "whiskey"...but it's sitting on the top shelf, eh? But who are we kidding, you're gonna get the Busch that's on tap, anyway and play some shuffleboard. Don't get yourself overserved (the KCPD metro south patrol division is just down the street), or, if you do, hang out and play with the Boston terrier for a while until you sober up.

Richey's has remained a local favorite by providing great service, great value and an environment that treats all patrons the same. From the first moment you walk into Richey's you will feel like a regular. The staff as well as customers are always friendly and willing to include you in whatever they are doing. It may be shooting a game of pool, playing shuffleboard or a Texas Hold Em tournament. If none of these interest you then you can head to the bar for some great conversation, KENO and great music coming from a well played Jukebox. The best thing about Richey's is that if you give it a chance you will always walk away with some new friends. Almost forgot, if someone buys you a drink in Richey's and your not ready they give you a color coded chip. You can take this chip with you and use it next time your in. This is a service that is seldom offered in other clubs.

You can walk into this bar and feel at home, nice bartenders, shuffleboard, pool, good jukebox and the very sweet locals who might buy you a shot if you talk to them for a half hour or less.

Respectfully, not somewhere you're going to go for ambiance. With that being said...drinks were fairly priced. Employees and patrons were friendly and the pools tables are cheap to play.
