I'm sorry, you were looking for Taco Bell? It's a block to the East.Or possibly you prefer a place with strings of colored lights, sombreros on the wall and drinks of a hue difficult to find in nature, but with salt on the rim and a piece of citrus hanging on the edge, possibly a cute name and a large price tag. You know, the kind of place that has 700+ reviews on Yelp and tons of pictures of cool people hanging.Yea, this is not that place. Head down 7th Avenue to the south a couple of miles to Southwest Boulevard, turn left and drive a mile. Utopia awaits you, possibly featured on TV by Guy Fieri. Do those of us that care a favor. Don't tell him about Reyna's.I'd rather have a plate of impossible goodness, say the street style tacos (single wrapped unless you request double), the enchiladas or chili rellenos. Tacos de canasta? Who else is serving them in KC? You tell me. The tacos here, bursting with flavor, stuffed with far more meat than any like restaurant in tow. More protein, less onion and cilantro, but just the right amount to give you the right kick in the head. The corn tortillas lightly seasoned in oil, but not drenched. Everything that makes this kind of food famed, it's all here. They have the simple rice and beans like a hundred other joints on Kansas Ave. or Minnesota Ave. in KCK or Independence Ave. in KCMO. But no, theirs... better. Better flavor, more love, tastes better, less filling (scratch the latter). And then in my mind, after a meal like this, I walk out with change left from a $10 bill. What could possibly improve all this? OK, throw in some loud Mexican videos on the TV filled with accordion music, middle aged overweight guys in cowboy hats that sing beautifully and impossibly hot girls pretending to fawn over them that wouldn't give them the time of day otherwise. It's all here. But wait, there's all that Mexican bakery goodness across the other side. And the lady at the cash register that stood and chatted with me for 15 minutes. You won't be finding that a Taco Bell.Regrets? Plenty. In my indulgent lust and self-imagined expertise of every Mexican joint in Kansas City, my stop here has given me pause... I've driven by here probably 200 times over the past 15 years and never stopped. Justification for suspension of my self-awarded street taco license. How soon can I return to atone for my shortcoming? Tomorrow will do.

I've never actually been here, but hubby has ordered tamales for pickup quite a few times for our Christmas tradition. The tamales are always amazing, I love the sauce they serve with them and the service is terrific!! It's a place worth checking out!

Big fan! I'll be back for sure. My wife and I are doing a "taco tour" of the kc k area cause we're street taco junkies Rayna's chicken tacos have flavor like you won't believe I'd like to eat them 2 at a time. I also had a spicy pork so good that it reminded me of the scene in what about bob where they're eating dinner and Bob (bill Murray) keeps making mmmmm mmmm noise after every bite.

I've grown up with this place! My dad loved the sweet potato empanadas when they had them... they were so cozy and perfect for fall weather. The conchas always taste fresh and airy! The topping is the perfect sweetness!
