Que Tal Pollo

This place was in an unexpected area for me. Kind of hard to find. But worth it! The restaurant is nice inside. The employees are very friendly. The food is excellent. Guac and chips, beef tacos that are unlike any around here. The Birria tacos are really good. The salsa is different but really good. We shared the chocolate cake. We'll definitely be back.

Food was AMAZING!! I had the vegetable potato +added char-boiled chicken & my wife had the asada quesadilla. We shared the stuffed jalapeño poppers. This was mouthwatering AMAZE-BALLS!! My dish tasted like I was eating authentic crab-Rangoon with perfectly roasted vegetables...(I know that sounds weird) the fusion of the chicken/cheese & veggies was SEAMLESS!! My wife's entree was loaded w/ her words: "the best kind of steak" all of the condiments tasted FRESH! & the poppers were from the garden that day kind of AMAZING!! The bacon was like they read my mind kinda crispy!! PLEASE people out there COME TRY this place!! It's WORTH the DRIVE!!!!

Stopped by this place on a Tuesday! They had a taco special that was 5 crunch tacos for $5. Sounded like a win to me! I got 3 beef and 2 of them chicken. The beef taco was okay, but the chicken tacos stood out! They had cubed chicken meat that was seasoned so well! I wish I got all chicken. Five sounds a lot, but they aren't huge by any means. I also wanted to try the fried Jalapeños wrapped in bacon which were delicious! I do wish I tried the street tacos or one of their meals.

The consume was sooo yummy. Charro beans YUM. Best Mexican rice I've ever had, a lil kick SO flavorful without being overly salty. The guac was made AFTER we ordered it ... soooo fresh and delish. We ordered and paid at the counter and food was delivered to our table. She gave us a few types of green salsa and YUM. Prices are extremely reasonable and we have actually already been back! We called ahead, ordered take out and got the combo fajitas, shrimp tacos.. it was good but already looking forward to trying the quesabarria tacos next time. I need that consume!! Gracias QTP, you are the new weekly takeout spot for us. Family owned and run!

Wonderful, small, hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. When my husband ordered his tacos, he was warned they are HOT, he's fine with that, but she did not lie! It was hot, but so flavourful, you still wanted more. Looking forward to trying a baked potato next time.

Very friendly and helpful service. The food is delicious. It's really casual and every time I'm there it seems like they know their regular customers.

This restaurant opened not too long ago and we have been wanting to try them for awhile. We ordered the fried stuffed jalapenos, 1 birria taco, 1lb of Carnitas, 1lb of barbacoa, and a whole chicken. The stand out stars of the meal were the birria taco (the best I've ever had), the chicken, barbaco, stuffed jalapenos, rice and charro beans. This has become our new favorite mexican joint in Independence. We will be back for those birria tacos and chicken soon!

After seeing photos for Que Tal Pollo, a buddy and I made the drive from KC North to Independence just to see what was up.We split 4 items: an order of chips and queso, bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos, Birria Torta and a Que Tal Burger.The chips were thick, crispy, and sprinkled with some sort of black pepper seasoning; the perfect dipping tool for the bowl of thick queso; easily the best queso I've had north of the Rio Grande.Jalapeños were large and busting with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon; a steal at 3 for $4.The Birria Torta was quite large and delicious, but I regret not adding a side of consommé for dipping.The Que Tal Burger was the star of the show. A beef and bacon patty topped with ham, salami, and pastor meats, with American and Muenster cheese, avocado, lettuce, onions... A beast of a sandwich!I am ready to go back and try the chicken soon. It looked amazing on the grill in the parking lot as i was leaving. My advice - take a friend or two, so you can sample multiple menu options. What's Up? An easy 5 star experience!
