Great coffee shop. The seasonal drinks were fun! Pecan pie and crème brûlée latte's. They also have a drive thru! Quick service and lots of seating Vegan friendly

I can not rave enough on my experience at Prefix Coffee! I was interested in a quick stop on my way to work for a morning pastry and drink, but wanted to support some place local. I remembered Prefix had a drive-thru at this location, so I followed the beautiful vintage blue sign and made my way to the window! There isn't a menu outside, and I didn't step inside to see if there was a list of drinks, but the sweet gal who took my order made the experience effortless.I have been a recent matcha lover, and not ever having been here before, as well as not knowing what to order, the barista (Larissa I believe) was so kind, intelligent, and helpful. She made me the perfect drink based on my preferences and I will definitely be back.I left that drive-thru with the biggest smile on my face. I wish I could give 10 stars. Thank you to your team for the kindness.

Caffeine Queen! (But make it decaf) I love touring local coffee shops in Kansas City, Missouri,because the coffee culture is top tier. Near to nothing is bland and boring; every shop has a personality. Those who claim Prefix, located in the Lightwell building in downtown Kansas City, is void of personality are wrong. The vibe here is minimalist, art gallery owner attracting, white walls, creative concepts. If that makes sense. Around you are works of modern/contemporary art, but you're inside a semi corporate office building, and you're ordering a latte from a coffee shop counter. Big City Slicker Vibes. And I'm all here for it, especially when the seasonal menus are so absolutely fantastic that there is nothing at all to complain about. If you want an artisan coffee with artwork around you, forgo the overpriced under inspired Thou Mayest at the Nelson, okay just kidding. The Nelson is iconic (but the coffee is not). Instead, visit the newest Prefix location and be sure to pay special attention to the seasonal drink menu. I have tried 3 seasonal lattes, and every time, they have been exceptionally balanced, not too sweet, and inspired. If you're an espresso tonic person, then the key lime one was divine, but they lean into trends and always offer one with their seasonal menu changes...at least for the past few months. I think Prefix Coffee adds something special with their unique and thought-out seasonal menu creations that stand out amongst the caramel, vanilla, brown sugar mochas that will always exist out there in the coffee universe.

It's a great spot to check out if you are wanting to do some work or study. The coffee is extremely good and price competitive with all the places near by. Check it out for sure!

Really loved the retro sign on the building to welcome us to prefix and then to warmly welcomed by the staff. I'm not a coffee aficionado, but love to try new things. I gave the Honey Blossom Latte with Almond Milk a try and I did enjoy it. While I wanted to try all the awesome pastries I went with the suggested Cinnamon Roll. Normally they are too sweet, but not this time. My husband joined me and it was a challenge to share since it was so good. Next time - the other pastries!

This has to be the most barren and soul-less coffee shop in KC. It has the beauty of a church kitchen, the charm of a half finished IKEA project that's missing pieces, the artistic curation of someone that had a budget of $10 and could only shop at Big Lots. Are you following my drift? This place is void of any aesthetic or allure; a wasteland, with the warmth of a Siberian blizzard.With background music so faint, I couldn't tell if it was gospel or thrash metal. I'm glad I only ordered a 4oz macchiato so I could consume quickly and escape before the monotony permeated my soul and destroyed my will to carry on. This is the type of shop that gives corporate coffee chains a good name.

Such a fun vibe at Prefix! Somewhere along the midcentury modern lines but really well done. I tried a variety of things: a cinnamon roll, seasonal latte, classic latte, and a cold brew. I didn't love the seasonal drink, but the other 3 were awesome. Prefix is also a great place to work from with plenty of seating. This vibrant, up-and-coming neighborhood needed a coffee shop like this and Prefix delivers.

Cute little coffee shop in midtown! I bet at night that neon sign out front is super cute! Went around lunch time and the place was pretty quiet. I had one of the spring drinks with matcha and almond milk. Yum! The pastries were delicious and also grabbed a sandwhich and chips to split with my daughter for lunch. Usually prepackaged sandwiches aren't great, but this one was really good. There was only one guy working, but he was very nice and quick with our drinks. I worked for a bit while I was there and the WiFi was fast, so big plus for a working space. It looked like they had a drive thru as well and some merch! Loved the live plants, marble tables, chairs and wood slate decor!

I'm not a coffee person but i do love the pastries here! I always get them heated! The prices are on the higher side for pastries And juice but it worth it!

BEVERAGE: I ordered the seasonal solstice latte-- a winter special with spiced vanilla and hints of spicy cardamon. The warm floral latte was perfect for the transitional winter spring weather. 4/5, drink was good but tasted like any other spiced latteAMBIANCE: good lighting, pretty ambiance, cozy seating! I got take out, but it seemed like a good study spot with limited space availableSERVICE: friendly staff and fast service
