Woah! What a beautiful store! A large store with bolt after bolt of fabric. Popular lines, blenders, clothing fabric and more. A large classroom is available and several employees around to assist. Chairs available for those who may not want to shop. A variety of inspiration projects on display.

Great variety of fabric in a spacious shop. Caught them before their big holiday sale and they were nice enough to go ahead and give me a discount on Xmas fabric. They have a large coupon book available but I live too far away to take advantage of it. Classroom area is large but not separated completely from shop (half wall). A little light on batiks but wide range of grunge fabrics. Large wall of patterns and tools. I found some William and Morris fabric which is getting to be a challenge.

I called to ask about a place to hold a workshop on vintage sewing machines, and was told by Barb, that "we have someone here who does that"...I went to their site and all they are showing is someone who works on Featherweights.I called back as thought maybe I didn't make myself clear that these would be other types of machines, and was told, again by Barb that "oh she covers most of that" when I mentioned Davis, Eldridge, National etc.Rude, dismissive and condescending is best way to describe Barb.

This store was highly recommended to me, and I am so glad I stopped by! It is a surprisingly large store, with lots of fabrics, threads, patterns, notions, rulers and hand quilting supplies. Very friendly and knowledgeable sales staff. Don't miss the "sale" area in the back! Lots of parking, easy to get to off the interstate.

This fabric shop is really a nice place to visit and pick up fabric or notions. I don't quilt but I do sew a lot of gifts so I found some fabric (of course) that I couldn't live without. Very nice shop and good location.

I love to visit quilting stores when I am on vacation so I was super excited to have two within four miles of each other, what a happy quilting moment. All that excitement just dissipated once I came through the doors. The vibe sure wasn't helped by the clerks talking about how they couldn't wait to get off work and how could they make it to 5:00. I have never heard clerks talk like that in a quilt store and I have been to them all over the country!Maybe that vibe affected my mood but I didn't buy a single thing. My husband about fell over, I have never done that. For me, this was a kindof tired store without much pizazz. I have nothing against traditional fabrics, I have lots of them and I have made many traditional quilts. But shouldn't there be a variety? Some modern pops to delight you?Sorry Prairie Points if this spend-happy quilter bought nothing then something needs to change. Start with asking the clerks not to moan and complain while sitting on chairs at the front of the store.

I've been shopping at Prairie Point off and on for 13 years. They have a nice variety of quilting fabrics. Most tend to be on the traditional side. About a year ago, I was in to pick up some Wonder Clips and was pleasantly surprised to find that there is a small corner of apparel fabrics. I immediately bought some and have been back many times for knits, rayon, and chambray. There isn't a huge selection but I've found several that I like. The colors tend to be softer and the prints are a lot of florals. This has been my first stop for apparel to help support that corner. I love having an alternative to Joann's for apparel fabric. I haven't found a lot of choices for apparel fabrics around Johnson County, this is a good option for nice apparel fabrics.

Pros: Prairie Point has a great selection of fabrics and patterns. The new store is bright, cheery and well laid out.Cons: The staff can sometimes be abrupt (on the edge of rude). Not all the staff, but some including the owner. Although Prairie Point is the closest quilt store to my home, after my most recent experience, I will always check the Eudora or Olathe quilt stores or on line before going back to Prairie Point.

Impossible to browse without staff jumping on you in every aisle. I enjoy browsing ALONE. This helps me to dream up new projects. But this fabric store is ridiculous when it comes to the staff. Even when one hears you tell one staff member that I'm just browsing the next will still not leave you alone.

I enjoy browsing ALONE with my thoughts and piecing my ideas together. But if you want that zen browsing experience of just browsing, then DONT GO here. I've never been jumped on so frequently and asked if i'm "doing OK", even after one sales person can hear the previous sales person an aisle away ask. The prices are about average for any quilt store in the area. The selection is nice. They badger the hell out of you to see if you are ready to have your pending choices cut even when the store is nearly empty. I'd like to say that they give this much effort into helping when you actually have a true request. That's never been my experience there. They recently moved and the store is bigger. But so far I feel like its spread out but not more fabric. I found the owner to be indifferent to any customer inquiry. I shop there only when I cant find it somewhere else.
