UPDATE** 10.10.24: ******Store staff and manager are actually SUPER great and honest people!! After I went inside to shop, I was actually really IMPRESSED!! The store location happens to be a well-known rough area, BUT Justin (the store owner) and his staff really went above and beyond in taking care of my needs all around, and providing a clean and welcoming store with a GREAT selection of favorites and fabulous high-end choices. Store was well-lit, CLEAN, wide isles and ZERO CLUTTER. FEELS CLEAN AND SAFE!! WOMAN APPROVED When I went inside, there were a few gentlemen and a lady at the front counter. I shopped for a few minutes and brought my selection to the counter for purchase. I was greeted kindly and checked out quickly. I asked to please urgently use the restroom and explained I have medical issues. THEY DO NOT HAVE A PUBLIC RESTROOM, but I was VERY graciously allowed to use the facilities, and told where there was a safe restroom nearby for future need. Raymond, one of the managers, was the gentleman who approached my car in the parking lot.. we discussed the issue and came to the conclusion that FOR SAFETY FOR EVERYONE, THIS IS A PRIVATE PARKING LOT, MONITORED, AND 15MIN PARKING RESTRICTIONS. I simply suggested they may want to put up signage to that effect, and that was kindly welcomed. I was simply startled when he approached me, but he was in no way aggressive.I discussed my initial concerns openly with the staff, and l was impressed with their response and understanding, as well as resolution. The store owner (Justin) was called and he even took time to hear my concerns and bring clarity to the whole issue. I am BEYOND PLEASED, and I look forward to my next trip to Plaza Liquor!*****************************10.9.24:I'm a nurse and I travel for a living. I stopped here and was confronted by staff asking me to shop or leave. women should boycott this store not safe place for women‼i work innercity, going home-to-home, so i'm often looking for a safe place to park for a few minutes and catch up on charts or phone calls... i stopped and finished up a few things in my car.. and i mean i was there for about 10 minutes, when i was approached by staff demanding to know if i was going to shop inside their specific store, or i need to leave. i was sitting beside another woman doing the same thing and she wasn't approached. way to make a lady feel safe!! don't you dare approach me in my car and confront me for something so stupid. i would highly recommend women boycott this store. it is not safe

It was a rainy day and I'd been out running errands all over town. I knew we needed a few things at the liquor store and I was dreading making another stop on this dreary Friday evening during rush hour, when I was making my way down the road and literally pulled up right next to Plaza Liquor. If memory serves me correctly this used to be an old berbiglia spot. Just thinking about those stores takes me back to my early 20s and thinking about how much KC has changed in a decade. At any rate, I pulled over, dodged some rain, and came inside. Now, anyone who remembers Berbiglias in KC might remember them as I do - kind of basic, a bit dirty, and the kind of place that you just kind of tolerated. I mean, I was in my twenties so I didn't know liquor stores could be nice and have variety, but now I do, and boy was I glad when I walked in the doors and found out that this newly redone Plaza Liquor is NICE. Not only is the interior nice, the folks working are super friendly, and they have an incredible selection. I found some craft beers from STL that my husband hadn't been able to find in a long time at liquor stores closer to our house, and they of course carried a good variety of wine and liquor as well. Overall this one is a great little neighborhood liquor store, and is definitely one I'll return to if I'm once again needing to pick up a bottle of wine on the way home.

A short walk from our Hilton hotel made this an easy choice for us. Two drinks at the hotel was $36.30 with the tip. We bought 4 bottles of wine, a bottle of gin, a 4 pack of tonic water, a bottle of bitters, and 2 limes for $97.00. Drinking while out has gotten cost prohibited, buy your supplies at the local store and enjoy in the room without paying exorbitant prices.Very large selection here and a super friendly staff that is also dog friendly

My friend parked here to buy a bottle while I went across the street to the dispensary and she was screamed at and told to get the fuck out of the parking lot when she was just putting on lipgloss before going inside. I'm confused as to why a business is shooing away customers as it seems like they could use an extra bit of money to renovate the dirty place

Fantastic selection of all sorts of beer, liquor, ciders etc. Stopped by on my way to the Chiefs game, loaded up and was on my merry way!

Great selection of craft beer and whiskey. Bourbon barrel picks are always on point. The "allocated room" pricing is a touch high but in line with market. 10/10 - I always swing by when I'm in the neighborhood

I was very impressed by the decor and the remodeling they've done to the old Berbiglia that is now Plaza Liquor. The staff is very friendly and I ran into Carter. She used to work at Cooper's Hawk - very pleasant.If you're a beer lover, you MUST stop in to browse. They have beer in every flavor!

Great place! Amazing wine selection. Price was more than my local liquor store but to be expected with this location

How about an update?We've gone over Plaza Liquor's expansive alcohol offerings, but I wanted to highlight its staff and the customer service they provide.I was searching for a particular special release beer, but I wasn't sure when or if it would make its way to Kansas City. I reached out to Plaza Liquor who said they had indeed ordered it and said it would probably be a couple of months until it reached our area. They also asked that I watch their Facebook page because they would post when it arrives.I didn't even get that far. I ended up getting a message saying that they received their shipment and that it would hit the shelves the next morning. They also said that it was a small shipment and if I could make my way down sooner than later there would be a better chance to make a purchase. I ended up making it in plenty of time.I'm happy that they're a well stocked and well run liquor store. I'm even happier with the follow up and personal touch.I highly recommend to those of you who have exquisite tastes.

Horrible service! I came today to BUY a bottle and my girlfriend was getting a pre roll across the street! As I was putting on my lipgloss he came outside and screamed at me and told me to get the fuck out of the parking lot! A great way to lose business ! He also said he would call the police on me if I didn't leave !! I was confused why he was so angry I was putting on my lip gloss! Horrible employees .
