Can't get away!
Pretty blue sky with naked tree branches at Platte Landing Park --- 11/26'16 14:30
I always enjoy free painting in the sky no matter by nearby AFB drills or Mother Nature's offer.
No shad to walk at this side but is good to sweat it out.
Tiny flowers by the roadside looks cute. (9/06/2016)
Sunny 70° now. 2/21/2017
Is he done growing?
Pay attention of the speed limit sign inside of the park, I saw police gave lights to speeder 2 days ago. (9/08/2016)

I think I like you!
Yes, people follow the rule very well, hardly see anyone walking dog on trail, they go straight to dog park. 9/08/2016

A large 160 acre park that is largely undeveloped. It features 2 large dog parks - 2 and 3 acres each, several miles of walking trails, a boat ramp, picnic shelter, wetlands, small lakes and of course- great access and views of the mighty Missouri River. I went for the first time this evening just to get up close and personal to the cresting river before access is closed tomorrow because of the impending flooding. Now that I know the park exists, i would definitely return for a quiet spot at the shelter after grabbing some food or coffee in downtown Parkville.

For a while I thought this was English landing park. I now realize it's an entirely different park right next to English landing park. Does it make a difference? Not really I can park here and easily pick up a running trail that leads to argosy or go around the park. It's beautiful. There is also a dog park here but I have not tried that yet.

I had such high hopes for this park! I love Parkville and its overall vibe. It has the most adorable shops and is the home to Park University. I looked up dog parks and this one popped up. Upon arrival I didn't see a dog park, but I did see some picnic tables and a covered area. Long story short....I never found the bark park!! I'm not sure where it's at, upon reading other posts it's a ways into the park...again not sure. I didn't see any signs or any indication of where to go or how to find it. The pictures I saw were so promising! There was still plenty of room for me to throw a ball around and play with my dog, so I was thankful for that. Overall not a bad park, but not the best in my opinion.

Found this park just this week, didn't know it was exist for 2 years already.I constantly walked at English Landing Park and parked my car at Farmers Market but saw cars just in and out from 1 lane bridge a lot and wondering why they drove over there? I wasn't had enough time to check it out then so went home checked online found that is a DOG park.Today I went over to check it out but found the sign at entrance showed Platte Landing Park only so I was confused. I parked my car and took a walk along the river bend which was a very nice walking/biking trail. At a little over 1/2 mile I found the dog park!! Yes, there is a dog park "inside" of PLP! Now it all make sense, yes we have Platte Landing Park and also have Platte Landing Dog Park.PLP have a dog park, a 2 mile walking trail, boardwalk, wetland, boat ramp and is ADA accessible. It open 5:00 a.m. to Midnight, everybody can come for free, no admission and parking fee. At PLP dogs are welcome to walk with their owner but must be on leash and under control all the time. Dogs can be run free in dog park anytime.I walked just 1 lap today due to on and off walking, took pictures and wondering around to explore the area, even checked out the restroom by the dog park which just cleaned by park worker, very nice/clean.Both PLP & ELP(English Landing Park) has their own unique vibe, you need to come and feel it yourself. I will combine both parks, walk along the riverside than the railroad side in the future.

When it first opened it was pretty bleak. It was just a fenced in area that veered off to the left. There's a spot for large and small breeds and of course with chows, large breeds area we go.Now, however, there's a picnic table and a dog tunnel toy. The trees have been protected by a small fence and there are poop bags placed on the perimeter of the park. There's also a small fire hydrant. My dog loves this place and can get pretty busy at times. There's also a huge walking path to take your dogs on if they get tired of meeting other pooches. Also very close to my home and avoids me having to drive to nkc or penn valley.

In short? I'm very impressed. It needs a bit more work, but it's still an excellent facility. With some love, it could be the city's best. The first thing you'll notice is that this park is HUGE. As per the usual, there are separate areas for both large and small dogs, but both seem equal in size. While both sides share an entrance, they jut off in different directions, long rectangles. I feel like the shape encourages the dogs to be more active. I have two dogs, one who is hyper and insane, and one who is slowing down a bit but still quirky. Both were running more than I'd seen in quite some time. Knowing I'd have sleepy dogs back at the house, I was very happy. The setting is pretty nice as well! To the south you have the river, and to the north, scenic hills and bluffs. You're in a remote location, and it certainly feels like it. It's pretty cool that I can get here in 15 minutes from downtown. My only complaints are of the type that are usual for dog parks. First, there's not enough grass and my dogs came back pretty muddy. I think it just needs a chance to grow in more, or they need to plant a bit more hearty of a variety. Second, they need a better place for the humans. A basic picnic table would do, but the plastic chairs they currently have are just blown over and laying in random places, dirty. It's not inviting. Still, those are fairly minor complaints. I'm a definite fan of what they've built in this dog park. From this dog owner, thank you!

With large, fenced in areas for both small and large dogs, this park is one of my pooch's favorites! I like the views as well as the water, trash, and poop bags available for my dog. We've found the best time to go is between 5-7 as there are lots of friendly dogs to play with. They've just recently planted some trees so there will eventually be shaded areas.

My favorite dog park in the Kansas City area! Both the small and large dog areas are huge. I would give it 5 stars, but it does flood during rainy weather and seems to take a long time for the ground to dry out....meaning your dog will have mud all over your car. Murdoch and I go to Platte Landing Dog Park every weekend during good weather.

Not a bad dog park, but not too popular from my experience. Plenty of space though, and water for the dogs. Overall an okay park.

We teally enjoy this dog park! It has been restored well after the flood. However dog parents do not pay attention to the "small dog " " big dog signs."Many times we are unable to use it because there are too many small dogs in the big dog area and our 1 yr old golden gets along with big dogs but not small very well. We are disappointed that people dont follow the guidelines.
