My wife and I had our wedding at the end of May 2021 and we were lucky enough to get DJ Apollo with our package from Platinum DJ. Our special day was PERFECT from start to finish and DJ Apollo (Mike) played a huge part in making our dream wedding a reality. We met with Mike twice before the event and he made sure we were taken care of for all the time in between. Mike was quick to respond to questions, organized with a day-of timeline, on-point with the tunes, and an absolute champion of making sure we had exactly what we wanted with a killer party. We played games during the reception such as the shoe game and music bingo and Mike did an excellent job of transitioning between each item on the agenda. Another thing that needs to be said is that Mike is just an all-around great guy. You can tell as soon as you meet him that he is kind, genuine, and knowledgeable of his craft. He is an expert at what he does but he also goes the extra mile by getting you whatever you need on your big day. Behind the scenes, Alex and the rest of the Platinum DJ team were the perfect support for all our requests. I cannot imagine any way our night could have been more fun. I would highly recommend Platinum DJ and DJ Apollo to anyone who wants world-class service and peace of mind for their event.

Terrible company to try to do business with. 3 or so weeks ago I asked for a quote. Was told the date would work. I decide to give them a second chance after not even giving me a quote when I was told the date is free. Again told the date works, and I will make sure we get you a quote. Then an email comes from the owner saying "I don't think this event would be a good fit for our company." It's crazy either you do corporate events or you don't. I don't recommend this company to anyone. They can't follow through on what they say they will do. So it's good to see there are independently wealthy companies that need no more money. I recommend you look elsewhere.

This group of guys were really nice and easy to communicate with. The website is easy to navigate for music request. My one complaint is that the music I requested did not get played and when you paying good money for service, I definitely expected better!

Platinum KC was in my contract to use with the Monarch Room. My husband and I are very into music and had some specific songs that we really wanted played to make our night special. We submitted our very thorough list about 2 weeks before the wedding. This included our first dance choices. The next time I saw the DJ was at my event. He proceeded to play the wrong first dance song for the groom and his mother. He refused to take any requests from guests all night and even answered one with "this is a business" & "that's at the bottom of my list". This was in response to a request made by the groom's mother. He did not play anything off of our request list, it was all top 40's pop and rap. At the end of the night he walked up to me to ask what I wanted for my last song, and proceded to tell me that he had never recieved my list. But he did not reach out to me to tell me this before the event. So basically I paid $1000+ to have a DJ play all of his favorite songs. No communication & poor customer service. So if you are forced to use Platinum Productions, I would make sure that Kyle is not your DJ.

We used platinum for our wedding and were beyond happy with our experience. Our Dj was Brad New he was fantastic, super easy to work with, kept the crowd engaged and the timeline flowing! I have been to a lot of weddings and the song selections were versed and kept all ages on the dance floor. We will hire them again in the future!

Josh was an excellent addition to our reception! He managed to make the perfect combination of what we asked for, as well as what guests were asking for. He was attentive and stayed in touch with the wedding party throughout the evening. Couldn't have made any changes. Highly recommend!

Disclaimer: I have never booked or used a DJ before, so I have nothing to compare this experience to. Also, with the venue we used, The Monarch Room, we had no choice but to use Platinum KC as our DJ, so even if I did have another choice, I couldn't have used it.We booked Platinum KC in/around October 2015 for our September 2016 wedding. We met with Sergei as sort of a meet and greet and as he said "to get a feel for us as a couple" so he could book us the right DJ. We discussed the package we wanted at that time, and said we would consider adding a few items like ceremony support (we used New Life City Church just down the block from Platinum KC & the Monarch Room) and downlighting for the reception.Our next meeting with Platinum KC wasn't until August 2016. At that time Sergei told us he had booked us with Kyle. We met with Kyle and went over all of our song requests and our timeline with him. He had a copy of what we'd filled out online, but we had several changes to it, but he kept talking over me and didn't seem to grasp that I was trying to tell him my version was different. We confirmed with Kyle that we wanted the downlighting and ceremony support. We asked him about being at the rehearsal the night before so we could run through the music and make sure everything was perfect. He said he couldn't be there because of a cheerleading commitment, but that he could find someone else to meet us at the church on Friday.After that meeting we received our invoice from Sergei. It was just for the DJ at the reception and did not include ceremony support or downlighting. I emailed Sergei about it and he sent me an updated copy right away, but he also indicated that we had never talked about ceremony support (which we had via email because he asked me what kind of mic our minister wanted). I also inquired about who would be at the church on Friday and I was told that was an extra fee! I am already paying for ceremony support, shouldn't that be included? Since my husband, then fiance, and I were paying for everything ourselves, we opted not to pay even more to have someone there on Friday. Well, we should have. KYLE PLAYED THE WRONG SONG DURING OUR BRIDAL PARTY ENTRANCE! I specifically asked for the piano/instrumental version of the song and he played a version with lyrics. I was mortified.At the reception, Kyle was okay, except he started the music off with stuff we asked him not to play. Eventually he got into better music and the dance floor picked up. I know he told one guest he wasn't allowed to play a certain song they wanted, which we never said, so I went up and told him it was okay. He still never played it.I don't know if the DJ is supposed to coordinate the timeline with the venue contact, I just kind of assumed they worked together, but nothing at the reception really ran as smoothly as it should. So whether that's on the venue, on the DJ, or both, I don't know.

Sergei was our dj in our contract with heritage hall. I'm so glad they use this company! We met with him about a week before the wedding and made a timeline of the reception. He was so great at keeping us on time and would even come find me a couple of songs before the next event on our timeline to make sure I thought it was a good time to do it. He helped everything flow so smoothly! Everyone had such a great time with the great music he played and because of how well he interacted with our guests. So amazing!
