It's an upscale Italian place so if you're looking to dress up it's a nice spot. The front service was alittle disorganized when we got there but i think something is wrong with open table for them. The server took care of us and was on top of things the entire time! The food was good but I would not say great for the price. Would check it out again though and choose something different.

Let's get straight to the food--it was a carb-lover's paradise, so be prepared to leave full! The truffle garlic bread was decent but could use a little improvement. The bread itself was a bit dry, and the garnish didn't stick well, so it got a bit messy. The butter was tasty, though not quite enough for the amount of bread. Maybe spreading it on before cutting the bread could help? The carpaccio was impressive, a bit on the lighter side, which made a good appetizer before heading into the carb-loaded meal. The pairing with arugula was perfect, making it a simple yet balanced dish with great flavor. The carbonara was rich and flavorful, though a little too thick in texture, which made it heavier than expected. The rigatoni, however, was one of the standouts! It had a lovely basil note in the sauce, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly--definitely a highlight. The star of the meal was the mushroom pizza. The dough was prepped and cooked just right, with delicious mushrooms and excellent seasoning all around.Service was on the slower side, even though it wasn't busy. At one point, the manager came by to refill our water, which was thoughtful--perhaps our waiter was just having an off day.

Every time I eat at Plate I'm underwhelmed. The food is just fair, in my opinion. For the price, I just expect a better quality and more options. I feel like I'm paying for the ambiance and not the food. I've had their brunch, and dinner and both were just okay. It wasn't bad it was just extremely basic but at a premium price. The service is always great and the underwhelming food is certainly not a reflection of the fantastic staff. They're always attentive, kind and on top of everything.

This was our first time dining at this location, previously we've been to the Brookside location. Service was outstanding, food was quite good. We had the Antipasti Misti, which was huge--enough charcuterie, cheese, bread, etc., for an entire table. Our entrees were the Pappardelle and the Cacio e Pepe, which were both well prepared.

A very nice ambiance and our server was excellent! Everyone loved the truffle garlic bread (def get the extra butter). You can do it family style but we each got our own and everyone enjoyed what they had. Mom POV: we had a 4:30 reservation and they were welcoming of our baby in the stroller. We'd opted for the stroller so we could take turns walking him around the area as needed which was so nice. They do have a changing station.

Decided to stop by for brunch on Saturday. Very large interior, tons of natural lighting, and modern, upscale decor. We ordered the donuts upon recommendation from our waitress, and they were some of the best we've had. Warm, house made Italian donuts with orange mascarpone cream, powdered sugar, and pistachios. For our main dishes we ordered a Caesar salad, steak + eggs, and pappardelle pasta. Caesar salad - maybe I don't go to enough fancy restaurants, but I've only seen Caesar salad come out like this a handful of times. Layers of romaine lettuce wrapped together to form one large wedge drizzled in dressing, cheese, and one large parmesan tuile crouton. Bit of work to cut up the salad and mix everything together, but delicious, nonetheless! Would order again. Steak + eggs - sirloin cooked medium rare with two sunny side up eggs, few slices of bacon, potato wedges, and two pieces of toast. Pretty standard steak and eggs, no complaints. Pappardelle pasta - generous amount of rich, meaty, cheesy pasta. Noodles were cooked perfectly. I liked how their brunch menu included a few of their lunch menu items so that we were able to try items from both menus. Hope to come back for dinner!

Tucked away in Overland Park, Plate delivers an exceptional take on Italian cuisine that even the most discerning palate would appreciate. As someone particularly selective when it comes to Italian food, I was thoroughly impressed by the culinary experience this restaurant offers.Upon entering a bit later than expected, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were nothing short of accommodating. Their attentiveness and professionalism immediately set a positive tone for the evening. The highlight, however, was the fresh, house-made pasta--a true testament to the authenticity and care put into every dish. With an open kitchen concept, diners can watch as the skilled chefs expertly craft each meal, adding an extra layer of engagement to the dining experience. From the quality of the food to the impeccable service, Plate provides a uniquely immersive and unforgettable dining adventure. It's the kind of place you not only want to return to but feel compelled to recommend to others. I'll certainly be back to savor more of what this gem has to offer.

I've eaten here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times I thought the food was pretty average. I usually give restaurants two times because anyone can have an off night, but there are too many restaurants that are better than average. Plus the last time we were in we had gnats. I told the management, but their solutions were to move us or they'd take care of it later. By the time we realized they were permanent residents at our table we were already into our meal. I was just ready to leave & be done with things.

We were disappointed that Plate won't be added to our list of great restaurants for special events. The service was very good starting with the hostess and then the server and lastly the two managers dressed in classy suits. The food, however was mediocre and underwhelming. And to cap off the negative, I ordered a glass of House Cab, and received a $21 glass of wine.

First time in and our experience was great! Sat in the bar and Joey was our server. He was very personal, made us feel so welcome, and made great recommendations. He even through in free bread for us! Everything from the appetizers to dessert was delicious. We can't wait to go back!
