Pizza Man

Wow the Italian beef here is just the best! I cannot emphasize enough how delicious it is!

The food was tasty and at a great price. Lots of toppings on the all meat pizza and we liked the thin crust. The italian beef sandwich was very good as well. No frills atomsphere -- the pinball machines were fun to play while we waited for our order.

Food - Very tasty Pizza and I hear the sandwiches are great as welll Service - Quick and courteous Ambiance - Classic Old School (think 80s) Pizza Joint with Arcade game(s).Had Never been here but have been to grinders (just to the South of this place.Good prices for good pizza be it S/M/LHad the deluxe, closest to a Supreme and it made a "first bite impression"!Fresh tasting ingredients, crispy cracker thin crust, not as much Mozzarella as Minsky's (my fav) but enough to keep toppings from falling off/apart to the cheese. Interior could use a makeover, but the OG hole-in-the-wall 'charm' has it's merits.Paper plate for dine in, water is self serve and soft drinks are by the bottle so NO fountain drink serving machine here. Seating for maybe 44 if fully packed w/o the 5 or so barstools facing the wall. Solid offering in the area especially IF the old Godfather's is closed @ 127th and Antioch.

I have been to the Pizza Man three times now. I've only successfully eaten there once. The first time, I arrived around 5:45p, not realizing that they were only open 11a-6p most days. After some discussion with the cashier and someone in the back, it was decided it was too late for us to order.The second time, I got there right at noon for lunch. I had the Italian beef sandwich. It was incredible, and definitely reminded me of the ones I've had in Chicago. They have bagged chips and cans of soda to go along with the sandwiches. There were a lot of regulars coming in, and the place was decorated with Chicago memorabilia and murals. The restaurant is clean, although dated. Last night I got the craving for an Italian beef sandwich. Not wanting to repeat my mistake from before, I arrived at 4:45p. This time a sign in the door told me they were closed from 4/13 to 4/21.It is somewhat frustrating to want to support a local business that has such limited hours and then randomly closes for a week. They've been open for a long time and seem to have a loyal following of regulars, so it must work for them.

The Pizza Man was my go to when I worked down the street, and nothing has changed. The food is still phenomenal, my favorite spot for friendly service, and a perfect Italian beef or Chicago dog in Kansas City. All the pizzas are amazing as well, and the service is far and friendly. Plenty of seating for dine in and some pinball games too! Lots of Chicago decor on the walls, and it's very clean.

I had the Chicago Dog--I've never had one in Chicago so I had nothing to compare it to. It was good, but I removed the peppers as they're a bit on the too hot/spicy for me scale. It wasn't busy at all, though as I sat consuming my meal, people got take-out.If I go again, I'll try their Italian beef sandwich. Not sure how it compares to anything in Chicago, but I've heard it was good since this first visit.

Trying to find some Chicago flavors in KC. Stop #1 The Pizza Man Being from Chicago, I love deep dish pizza, but no it can't be eaten all the time. The Pizza Man does a good version of thin crust and you can get it with Italian beef and giardiniera. They have leaned into the idea of an Italian beef, even with serving the pizza with a side of aus jus. There hours are limited on weekends. They close at 6 on Friday and Saturday. The beef is really good. I will go back to try the sandwich.

I'd give my left nut for them to stay open past 6pm. I'll come work the shift if that helps????Lmk.

Italian beef with cheese was so good, better than some of the options I had in Chicago to be honest, very friendly customer service as soon as I walked in the door, highly recommend

It is by far the best pizza in the metro!The crust is nice and thin, toppings are generous and prices is extremely fair.
