I'm not even remotely religious, but I fell in love with the venue itself at the wedding we attended at this historic, English-style little church in Westport.Restroom in basementAmple parking on surrounding neighborhood streets

I recently decided on Pilgrim Chapel for my upcoming wedding. I've always driven by the church and thought it was lovely, so I finally checked it out so I could see the inside as well. It's beautiful! It's all stone with gorgeous stained glass windows inside. There's a small altar at the front and several rows of small pews. The carpeting is a very inoffensive shade of lavendar. There is a small room downstairs for changing and right outside the sanctuary is a small greeting room with a table and a couple of chairs. It's very cozy! There are a few downsides: It is extremely tiny--it only holds about 70 people. Also, it was originally a church for the deaf, so there is no organ or piano; if you want music you have to bring it in yourself. Pricing is reasonable. It's $750 for weekends and I think it's about $400 if you get married during the week. They do allow payments. I've had a chance to meet with the staff and they are friendly and helpful as well. I'm looking forward to being married here!

It is a beautiful chapel, and they've got weddings down to a tee. You rent it for 3 hours at a time so you'd better get finished within that time frame. The guy we worked with has his way of doing things and it's best if you go along with his way. I'm no bridezilla so it wasn't a problem, but our minister assisted and when I need a change at the last minute I talked to him instead of the guy from Pilgrim Chapel. The only music we had was by a friend with his acoustic guitar and it was just magical!

Amazing little church in a beautiful historic neighborhood in Kansas City, MO/Hyde Park. Not to mention, Pastor Roger was uber professional, understanding and personable. I got married at Pilgrim Chapel March of 2012. The weather was perfect and EVERYTHING went to plan...well there was one thing. I was 10-15 minutes late to my own ceremony. . . hey! perfecting beauty takes time! My party was small so if you have less than 75-80 people in your party this place is doable. I enjoyed the quaint, minimalistic, coziness and natural lighting/design of this chapel. The wood work and architecture is gorgeous.Other Mentionable Items:Historically this chapel was for the deaf therefore there is no organ or piano. We brought a cd player and played soft classical music. An idea is have a small 2-3 ensemble to play live. I think we will do this next time upon renewing our vows.Affordability, I paid $450-500 for two-three hours, I believe in 2012 for my wedding. Since we just did a wedding ONLY, I felt this price was more than fair. Pastor Roger allowed us to make payments and I think it took us 2-3 months to pay off our balance. Planning, Do plan ahead and be flexible. Backwards planning worked best for us as I booked 6-7 months out. Due to my minimalist style my wedding was less than $4,500 (former Army Logistics Officer here) however, planning ahead and being realistic is essential. This place and the people who work here are outstanding. Thank you!

A beautiful building that wasn't available the day my then-fiance and I got married on Oct. 4, 2014. BUT -- we managed to get Roger (the pastor) to perform our ceremony at the Ambassador hotel -- and we couldn't have been more pleased. Roger was flexible, accommodating and sensitive to our (ultra-liberal) needs -- hats off to Roger and the Pilgrim Chapel -- see you when we renew our vows!

Awesome placeTo do a small or medium wedding of up to maybe 75 people. We couldn't be happier with how things went. Great venue! WiFi can be a little problematic so make sure you have a hotspot if live streaming for those who can't be there in person.

Beautiful chapel! What a great experience, whether it be for a Christmas service, a movie in the park across the street (Gillham Park) or a wedding!!!We had to cut costs on our wedding and it was also an "easy out" to say the church was only big enough for family - I think it holds 70pp. There was room for our 2 ushers, 3 bridesmaids/groomsmen, 2 photographers and a videographer - oh, and the guitarist. I, on the other hand, intended to walk down the aisle with my mother - but having gained a little weight and having bought a dress with enough fabric to clothe a kindegarten class - I had to walk down the aisle alone because I wasn't sure we'd fit comfortably.

I'm not one that writes reviews but my experience for my wedding here was beyond amazing and I knew I had to let others know. If you are looking for the perfect intimate setting for your wedding day and amazing support from the staff, this is it! Catherine is the Wedding and Event Director and I cannot even put into words how amazing she was to work with. We wanted to find somewhere that our dog could be flower girl and she had no issues with it. Prior to wedding I even meet up with her two different times to show my parents and the pastor the venue, all of which she took time out of her personal schedule to meet us. She was very flexible with our wedding rehearsal the night before as we has some members show up late and on our wedding day was there to even open and close doors for the wedding party to enter. If it wasn't for her helping with rehearsal and the day of the wedding, it wouldn't of went as smooth. She truly went above and beyond and always was quick to answer any questions via email that we had. I would recommend pilgrim to chapel to every couple who wants the perfect intimate setting. It's a beautiful chapel and the support you get is unheard of. Worth every single penny and more.
