Don't be pointing a finger at me. I won't be the one breaking their string of awesome five-star reviews. Pretty good reason for those that I witnessed. This store is fine. Was in the hood for other business, came looking for some high grade Pu-ehr tea, which I walked out with (smells a little like dirt, earthy big flavor, high in caffeine, great for your health). But wait, what's this, some super delicious crystallized ginger to put on vegan soups I make (but I'm not vegan). And then some huge grain, white sea salt with a fabulous, mild taste. What a great find, because salt is an essential and can be the star of a meal when used properly.Service was first-rate. I was waited on by three different people in the space of about 10 minutes and each had their own expertise to offer, seemed, and appeared to really know their business. So in short, if you're looking for all kinds of spices, teas, herbs, oils and other things I probably missed that you'd expect, they likely have it, and I'm keen to explore more of their offerings in the future. Dedicated parking lot shared by a couple of other businesses, right off the corner of where Main Street turns West to head towards Westport. Great spot, glad I found it.

Being from Iowa, we have nothing like this at home so I jumped at the chance to visit an herbal supply store. They did NOT disappoint. I'm pregnant and will be delivering soon, they recommended 2 tea blends- one for pregnancy and one for postpartum. I also picked up a couple smudge sticks as we're hoping to buy a home soon. Great price. Plus when I told them I was from out of town, they assured me If I ran out of anything, I could get online and they would ship me whatever I needed! Loved it, highly recommended.

If you hear the slapping sound of Birkenstocks and catch a wiff of Nag Champa you must be (1) having a flash back or (2) approaching Phoenix Herb Company in the heart of midtown. For me it was the second option.Phoenix has incense, tea's, herbs, tinctures, lotions, potions etc.....I needed to stop by and pick up some Bach Flower "rescue remedy" for my dog *and maybe me*, he hates thunderstorms and this helps tremendously and also needed some aloe vera juice, so where else would I run other than Phoenix Herb. Co.? They are very helpful, very friendly, very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about their job. The place kind of soothes the soul a little bit and you feel as if you are getting a big ol hug from Mother Nature. Even if not all things in the store works for everyone, having a Mother Nature hug will sometimes do just as much as any supplement out there. If you live in KC, it's a much quicker trip to Phoenix Herb Co. to get your hippy fix than driving all the way to Lawrence! Go check them out and have a wonderful day.

Found this place by mistake, while I went shopping to the close healthy market place. They specialize in teas and oils. Found Myrrh oil that I was looking for and some good tea with hibiscus. Prices are reasonable considering the specialty of this place.

Before I heard a master herbalist give a talk, I thought all herbs were green leaves related to ragweed or St. John's Wort, and were liver busting deadly combinations. I didn't know how interesting and helpful herbs were, especially root herbs, and Chinese herbs that certainly aren't green and not ragweed descendants. But I had no idea where to purchase them except online at sometimes sky rocketing prices. Then,I found myself drawn to Chinese herb tonics, and considering a course in master herbalism. Again, where can I buy them in Kansas City.Someone kept mouthing me during the master herbalist talk, "Phoenix herbs." So I visited Phoenix Herbs, and was delightfully surprised. Inside are spices, in bulk (the price beats a favorite spice more of mine by a long shot), including vanilla beans at a ridiculously low price. Loose teas are next to the spices, then the array of herbs and equipment needed to cook or process the herbs. The next room has root herbs, mushroom herbs and mixes of herbs. plus they carry supplements, and liquid herbal preparations. They also have a very complete area of food grade clay, for lifting out the toxins and antibacterial properties. I was happy and surprised about the clay they had for sale. I've never seen it anywhere in Kansas City.. Clay is extremely beneficial. The staff is top notch on education. I mean, they know their stuff. There's a very small amount of books, as well. But I suggest talking to the staff. I'll easily become a regular in this store, but probably duchess too...hmm...Duchess of Phoenix Herbs, almost has an ancient sound of a Chinese healing qigong. Bwhannng.

Oh my dear lord in heaven . . . . I don't think they should have told me about this place. If you are interested in teas, in herbs, in incense or any combination of the three . . . . this store could be very bad news for your household budget. Very high-quality items, generally affordable prices, alongside the extremely helpful and friendly store staff could all mean that you will blow through massive amounts of money in a very short period of time. It's too late for me, but save yourselves.

I have always been wary of over the counter medications for aches and pains. Sure they may work quickly, but what are the long term effects? What exactly is in Sudafed? Aleve? Excedrin? How are taking these now going to make me feel when I'm older? Hmm...I'd rather not find out.So when my throat started to tighten up, the weather has changed into cold wind, and my co-workers are all coming in sniffling, I knew I had to pick up something to ward off the impending cold. At Phoenix Herb, I was quickly helped and was in the hands of my knowledgeable sales person. He made sure I didn't have any other conditions, picking out an appropriate remedy that's filled with good ole herbs grown from the ground. He was also honest, saying the tea I make from it might not taste the greatest (I appreciate honesty). They also sell a wide range of incense, incense holders, teas, spices, and organic body care.

I have been buying the detox tea for years. I make my own teas use the Detox tea for extra flavor.I ran out of the detox tea and went to purchase more on Dec 23, 2020. This blend I received turned my water blood red and the taste was bitter and it lacked the aroma that from previous blends. Prior to 12-23-2020.... the color of the tea was a almost clear blonde color with a sweet taste and a spicy aroma. Was there a change in the recipe and or the ingredients? I do know that the detox tea was not what I had previously been enjoying.
