Went to a very well attended visitation. They handled the whole thing just beautifully. It never appeared over crowded and there was a small room to get a drink of water and sit if the crowd was too much. Everyone was very nice and the room was set up very tastefully. When looking for a funeral home during a most difficult time it's nice to know you can count on someone!

I really wasn't expecting to have to plan a funeral anytime soon but I guess no one really does. After asking around, our family decided to go with Penwell Gabel. It was a little more expensive than another recommendation but it was a better fit for the family. We scheduled an appointment and met with Robyn. She was great and so incredibly helpful. Planning a funeral is already difficult, but trying to plan a funeral for someone without any legal relatives in the US was dreadful. Robyn was so patient and tried to help us every single step of the way. She was always available for questions.On the day of the funeral, there was a misunderstanding on some flowers but Mike and his team was able to resolve the issue immediately. Every single person we encountered at Penwell Gabel was so just great and accommodating.

They had a nice service (from what I got to watch of it) for my bother, but the streaming online service shutdown just as the funeral was starting. They recorded the whole first hour of them just setting up, and then shut it down just as the service was starting. The guy (John) I spoke to about it was rude and hung up on me, twice. This is a service that is dealing with bereaved people and this is how I got treated when asking about how to watch my brother's funeral from across the country (I can't travel for health issues). They finally got it back up, half an hour later. And then they didn't record the entire event, only parts of it. Want to get hung up on while you're grieving your loved one, give them a call.
