Peculiar Golf

I had a lesson with Cindy and she seemed to know exactly what I needed. I can feel much better golf scores coming! She is very patient and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. I am scheduled for more lessons and I can hardly wait till the next one.

Cindy was AWESOME !! I am a beginner , trying to learn to play the game ! She is so patient and kind . I felt very comfortable the entire time ! The facility was A+ as well !! Thanks so much, Cindy , for a wonderful experience !

The owners are great! They're very personable. I don't play but my kids do. Steve gave them some great tips to improve their form and swing. Enjoy a beer and hang out for an hour.

I have very minimal golf experience. I did my best with trial and error and advice from my significant other and friends, but I really had no clue what I was doing nor could I replicate my "great shots" when I would have them. I took some time off due to pregnancy and just life. We live nearby and stopped by Peculiar Golf to brush the dust off. To say I was rusty was an understatement and the frustration set in. With the goal of hitting the course when the weather gets nicer we purchased a lesson package. After my first lesson I can say that I have already seen great improvement on my form and consistency making great contact with the ball. I won't lie that I was slightly hesitant going in since I was afraid I would feel uncomfortable being "judged" over a game I am very green in. But Cindy is very kind and knowledgeable. She breaks it down to the basics and builds from there. I am so excited to see how much I improve over these next few weeks!!

For most of my life I have been involved in various games of competition shooting which includes all kinds of firearms and archery. Over the years I developed a solid personal philosophy on mental aspects of shooting and solid understanding of what is truly important. I know why I shoot well, and now I teach other folks to shoot well. I have never played golf, but I think the mental and physical aspects of the sport are very similar. I always wanted to learn to hit a golf ball, but I wanted some pro instruction in order to avoid all the errors and frustration of trying it on my own. I occasionally travel to KC for work and on one free afternoon, I had some extra time. I used my smart phone to find golf lessons near me and I called Peculiar Golf! I talked to Steve Keith and he said he would give me a lesson that afternoon on very short notice! I found Steve and I had a similar approach in focusing on THE most important things first. The type of things you continue to do no matter what level of golfer or shooter you are. I had so much fun! Steve had me hitting straight golf balls one after the other in a short time. I later returned on another trip and I purchased some used irons from them so I would have some tools to work with back home. I highly recommend Steve and Cindy because their concepts and teaching methods go a long way to creating fantastic results in a very short time. My advice is the same as with my shooting students. Don't buy into the expensive industry hype or crazy equipment chase. Instead invest your money and time with instructors like Steve and Cindy and build or rebuild your solid fundamentals. For me, the great results in a short time has been extremely rewarding, and just what I was looking for!
