Fabulous meal. I highly recommend their happy hour! Everything was super tasty. Great service during happy hour to transition into dinner. We had the hush puppies, ceviche, blackened shrimp tacos, and the mixed grill. Everything was perfect! Their mashed potatoes are sooo good as well.

Went to Pearl Tavern in Lees Summit for the first time on 3/2/25. It is tucked away behind some buildings, so it is hard to miss if you're not paying attention. Upon entering it has sort of an open concept. The bar sets to the left and is noticeable upon entering, though it is not very big. The restaurant was clean and did not have any weird smells. We ordered shrimp tacos, shrimp cocktail and gumbo. The shrimp was huge and learned from the cook they came from the Gulf of America and the cocktail sauce was delicious. The gumbo was very flavorful. The drinks were good and strong. The food was excellent, the food presentation was great. The cook was absolutely amazing. He educated us on how he made the gumbo and how he cooks other dishes. The server wasn't very attentive, maybe he was having bad day...it happens. Nevertheless, we will come back to enjoy the food and maybe rap with the cook some more.

We went to Pearl Tavern on Saturday evening and had a great time. The food was fantastic. I had the Shrimp Po Boy and my wife had the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Fresh seafood is difficult to find in Kansas City, but the shrimp and lobster were fresh and delicious. Our waitress was great. Attentive and informed about everything on the menu. I really like Pearl. Even on a crowded Saturday night, you don't feel packed in. Great layout.Definitely a wonderful place to eat!

This is our second visit for Pearl Tavern, thanks to restaurant week. Got there a little early and had some happy hour cocktails served by Deante. We joined our family for dinner. The fresh fish of the day was cobia, so ordered the grilled Cobia with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The fish had a nice buttery rich flavor, cooked perfectly and paired well with the creamy mashed potatoes. For the appetizer, I chose the blue crab dip from the restaurant week menu. The chips were too greasy & disappointing. My boyfriend got the clam chowder which very creamy and flavorful. For dessert I had the chocolate chess pie. It was a good mix of sweet, crunchy and salty. Gonna have to find a recipe to make it on my own. Service was exceptional at the bar & table.

We tried this place for the first time tonight. It was pretty good. I was a little dubious about eating oysters in the middle of America, but these were good. They had a wide selection of oysters and I picked three of them and they were lovely.I also had the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, and the prawns were enormous if not a wee bit overcooked. They were kind of chewy. The cocktail sauce was excellent. My wife shared the calamari appetizer with her sister, and they both enjoyed it. The hush puppies were excellent! My wife shrimp was a little bit too spicy for her. The menu said hot shrimp, which she assumed to be warm, but it was actually spicy. I had the crispy fish tacos and they were wonderful. I like spicy things and especially enjoyed the habanero salsa. We were all too full for dessert, but they did look good. We are happy to return to Pearl Tavern soon.

The restaurant itself is cute. Couple things stood out that we didn't like. Tables had a divider, slightly weird and uncomfortable. Luckily the family that sat on the other side of the divider were friendly, I'd opt out for table seating, moving forward and would consider the half booth/table. They were busy Saturday evening. With reservations, upon arrival we got seated immediately. Drinks came out within 5-10 mins, however the food - we thought they forgot my food (ceviche), it took nearly 30 mins for it. And unfortunately it was so spicy, I couldn't finish it. Almost immediately, after my first bite, my nose starts running and I'm just sweating from the spice. I've never had issues with spicy food but this was uncomfortably spicy. My sister was taken aback at how spicy it was. I brought it home & my husband was confused as to how ceviche could be this spicy. Yet, the amount of ceviche they give you is perfect, just wished the spice level was more so a 1-2, instead a 10.

We went here for a rehearsal dinner (~30 people), and were seated in a private room in the back. It was nice that we were secluded in our own area, but the space got pretty warm quickly, especially compared to walking outside of the room. Those at my table got the cucumber mojito crush, orange and bourbon crush, strawberry basil crush, and an apple pie crush (which I believe was the monthly special). While the crush's were tasty, we all kind of decided the amount of ice compared to the liquor in them was a bit of a rip off, and thus after a first round of crushes, ended up switching to traditional cocktails. There was then a pre-set menu of times including an appetizer of either a salad or clam chowder, then an entree of fish of the day, chicken, or steak, and a dessert of a chocolate chess cake, or cheesecake. I went with salad, steak, and cheesecake for my meal. The salad and the cheesecake were really good, the steak was a little overcooked for my liking, however, across the room the cooks on the steak were WILDLY inconsistent, some were raw, rare, medium, medium well, and well done. The reason for the 3 stars is the inconsistency across meals and the length of time it took - while we were a big party, a reservation had been made well in advance and it took close to an hour for even our appetizers to come out.

Came here due to not dining here in a while and of course this place NEVER disappoints me! Service was great per usual. It just so happened while I was there it was HH which of course is bonus! Selected oysters are $1! Drinks and appetizers are still the same price from the last time. I ordered East and west coast oysters, seafood gumbo, blue crab dip , lobster Mac and Cheese and for my entree I got blackened lake trout which mashed potatoes and asparagus and crab cakes. (No judgement lol) 10/10 everything was fresh , prepared and cooked to perfection. Drinks were delicious as well, I had The Mermaid Water, Pom Crush and the Upside Down Pineapple cake (it's not on the menu, you have to ask for it, DELICIOUS!!!) if you really enjoy seafood this is the place to be! So many great options to choose from.
