Patel Foods Indian and Pakistani Groceries

I guess you could say this is my go-to Indian grocery. It's a clean, nice-sized store with a good selection of staples for Indian cooking. I like that they have some good-looking fresh produce, better than what I've seen at other stores in the area. They also have a selection of frozen and refrigerated foods. They've done some remodeling lately and opened up some space and rearranged the location of the register, nice changes!The last time I was in, the employee at the register was happy to give me some helpful advice and tips about the ingredients I had just purchased.Also, this is the store where I discovered my most favorite, hottest condiment ever: Mr Naga Hot Pepper Pickle - Very Hot! I love it!

Patel's is a nice, friendly market with very fresh veggies. They carry a huge assortment of the Shan pre-packaged spice mixes - impressive -and a good assortment of chaat dry snacks. The owner was kind enough to tell me where to get Persian goods since she doesn't carry any, and even looked one up on her phone for me.On a whim, I bought some local, homemade pita bread (Olive Cafe) she vouched for and It. Is. Awesome. I will come back to this store!

I visited this Bangladeshi / Indian grocery, and was amazed to see their vast collections . I must be impressed as they collected a large number of Bangladeshi products. I was wondering if I would miss these authentic continental spices and condiments here , but the owner Shofi showed me around the place and must say quite impressive that was. I will certainly come back here for the Hilsha fish and halal meats.

This is at the last in the list of indian groceries to go to. They don't have a cooling section for vegetables and they go bad after two days and still trying to sell, doesn't seems to care. There is a middle eastern guy looking after the halal meat section, if nobody is around he comes to the cash counter "without washing his hands' the plastic bags were smelling of meat when he was done. It was disgusting!!Some of the items were expired and they were still selling it.This shop needs attention, proper utilization of space and customer service.

I saw the butcher smoking inside the meat section. I asked him if its professional to smoke inside. He said " I am supposed to be on break right now. Can you wait 15 min to get the meat."(I think he meant if he goes out to smoke, I had to wait 15 min. So, its my advantage that he is inside). I said "I would rather not buy meat from you" and left. This was my experience today. You can understand the neatness, professionalism and customer service of this store.

I bought a package of Golden Temple Atta flour there and when I opened it saw that it was infested with weevils. NEVER purchasing anything there again, I can only imagine all their products have been infested at this point.

I am really sorry to write this but I have to for the sake of other customers. I brought some meat(beef) from the patel foods and other than the generous amount of bones there wasnt much meat in the package.
