Having a child in the midst of COVID-19 provided a slew of challenges, including the stress of finding a new school for our little one. We had been on the waitlist for Parkwood and luckily a spot opened up right when we really needed it. Our kiddo has been enrolled here for about eight months and we've been impressed with the staff, and their commitment to working with each child. Additionally Kristina, the Director of the program, is very kind and quick to respond with any questions. They have also been very forthcoming and thoughtful regarding their covid policies. With something that has become so political in our society they have done a wonderful job of navigating a tough situation and keeping the kids here as safe as they can.

Our 5-month-old daughter attends Parkwood Day School and we could not be happier. Lead teachers must have a CDA, AA, or BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field, and they prefer them to have a working plan to complete a Bachelor's in ECE or related field. They support researched-based developmental learning for children 6 weeks to 6 years old and also have therapists (PT, OT, and speech) on site to conduct regular screenings to determine if your child needs additional developmental support/IEP. As a speech therapist myself, I was pleased to see therapy services are offered because they were not at several other places we toured. They just recently started using an app that logs your child's nap times, feeding times/amount, and potty. The thing my husband and I love is they upload pictures throughout the day and describe what activity your child is working on and what developmental skill it targets (fine motor, gross motor, eye-hand coordination, sitting core strength, language, etc). The staff is friendly, quick to respond, and our daughter is always happy upon drop-off and pick-up. Highly recommend Parkwood.

Our infant attends this school and while it costs more than my mortgage per month (but that seems to be the standard for infant care in NE JoCo), it is 100% worth it. I look forward to him moving to the preschool area and can see us being Parkwood parents until Kindergarten.

This is the best child care program in the city. I have had my son there for a year and the staff is beyond excellent. Paula George, the director, has been providing childcare for many years, and she expanded to this location in late 2009. They top notch teachers. I have had our son at Canterbury Prep and a few in-home locations the teachers here are many times better than what we have ever experienced. They have very flexible enrollment, they do part time and full time. Although the part time might be filling up. Coming from a VERY picky mom who have looked at EVERY preschool in Johnson County, I believe this place is the best. You child will love it.

Paula and her staff are wonderful with children. My son age 4 and 5 at the time of attending Parkwood Day School has an amazing amount of energy that Paula and the employees appropriately handled and directed in a caring and loving way. This is an excellent structured environment for learning intertwined with fun activities and play. Each classroom is named for its age group and is filled with learning tools and play items. Clean, friendly and first class employees that enjoy working with children. The school will jump start your child ahead of the others when starting Kindergarten.Scott

My daughter has attended Parkwood for two years now and I am so impressed with the staff and curriculum. My daughter loves the program and it is reassuring to have her always want to go to school. I feel lucky to have her enrolled here and will be sending my next one when she's ready!
