Rude reply to request to refund expensive window project

Would strongly advise against living here; especially buying. The staff were helpful and responsive, but in our experience the management and the HOA board were anything but. We found renovations to be prohibitively expensive due to onerous construction restrictions for contractors. Other policies were bizarre and arbitrary. No cats allowed, even if you own?The building is primarily made up of retirees. That's not a bad thing itself, but our experience was that the attitude of the building was borderline miserly when it came to voting for improvements that would modernize the building and add value. We found the HOA rules to be completely counterproductive when it came to selling our apartment. Our realtor was charged just to hold open houses. Similarly we found the building manager to be unresponsive to our phone calls and requests. Every issue took 2-3 phone calls to get a response much less to resolve anything.Just awful. Steer clear.

I have lived at Parkway Towers for more than ten years and have enjoyed the building's positive balance of location, affordability, strength of community, and security. I chose Parkway Towers because of the 24-hour door staff and residents-only security system, which was important to me as someone living on her own. The location, close to the Plaza but a few blocks away from the Plaza's traffic and noise, simply can't be beat. Restaurants, shopping, coffee, public parks, public artwork, the Plaza library, and the Cinemark Palace movie theater are all within walking distance. Over the last ten years I have almost completely remodeled my home, and with each project, the condominium staff has been friendly and helpful. There are certain rules in place due to simple logistics like parking availability and elevator usage, but working with contractors and staff together, any question was quickly resolved.Parkway Towers has a strong and very involved community, being governed by a Board of Managers elected from the residents, not managed by a big outside company. The Homeowner's Association is active, and there are a variety of social events so you can be just as involved as you want to be. Parkway Towers has been a great place to call home for the last ten years and I hope to stay here for many more.

ABSOLUTELY HATED THIS PLACE PLEASE don't MOVE HERE. EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE FOR DUMB STUFF. WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS.Rant: Theres so many things wrong. It looks fancy and the staff i interacted with were very nice and professional, but their policies are ridiculous. I just moved in a couple months ago and they charged me $200 just to move in so they could set up padding in the elevator even tho my unit was already furnished. Also, they are planning in replacing all the windows in the building and expected me to instantly drop $25,300 for it. Someone emailed the people who planned this saying it is very expensive and asking politely to just do repairs on the windows and refund the rest of the money, and they replied with a very rude email (picture attachment) saying "the idea of using the funds for something else is ridiculous" and "if you are shocked at the cost of this then you weren't paying attention for the last two years". Well sorry I just moved and and am not rich like you. Sorry i am just so angry and wish I could do more than just leave a review.

Been an owner at this condominium complex (first of its kind in Kansas City Metro Area, so some historical value) since 2013 August. Was resident till end of 2017 and since then, renting the unit out. Pros: a) 24/7 secured, mannd and monitored access to premises. No worries of thefts at all! b) Great concierge services (no need to wait to receive that package, if its too big, the staff will bring it inside your unit), c) Small but robust gym on the premises (no need to drive to Gm in cold/hot/wet weather), d) All utilities (except power and internet) included in HOA (yes, water, waste water, garbage, air conditioning all included!), e) friendly faces all around (we lived with two kids and never felt worried about kids bouncing around the premises), f) Right on Plaza with expansive views of Plaza and JC Nichols fountain and the parks (No need to go to Plaza for Thanksgiving Lights, you just pull a comfy sofa next to your window with your favorite drink and watch away!), g) Tonnes of great restaurants nearby (you never have to cook! if that's what you want), h) Absolutely near to Nelson-Atkins museum (no need to plan a visit, just walk over!), I) Close to Westport, Brookeside, Mission and Waldo - what a location! j) Great common space (as a large hall plus a terrace overlooking JC Nichols park) that you can rent for partiesCons: a) No pets (this is because of central air conditioning and out of consideration for those residents with pet allergies), b) Large assessment just done (for complete remodel of windows/doors that will up the curb appeal as well as energy efficiency of the whole building), c) Strict rules on what can be done and when to your unit (even for moving in/out), but these help to maintain the intergrity of overall building, d) Lack of nearby grocery store (nearest large one is ~15 minutes walk or ~5 minutes drive)

So far in this process of buying staff has being excellent and very cooperative, all my questions are answers asap , halls from 2nd floor and above have being completely update in modern style, Other similar buildings amenities and security on HOAS are more expensive like the Hemingway , but this other buildings they do not have parking with in, and this will not matter if you think valet parking is included but paying extra that doesn't go to your building iprovement I do not consider it an added value
