The farmers market was a nice treat. It was easy to park. We bought tomatoes , peppers and fresh corn on the cob from the local farmers. Then went for a nice walk with our dog by the River. Yea

The Parkville Farmers Market is located in a covered walkway in the parking lot of English Landing Park. It's reminiscent of the Overland Park Farmers Market in terms of look, size, feel, and goods offered except a little less so. For example, while the OP Farmers Market may post between 20 - 25 vendors the Parkville Farmers Market has between a dozen to 16 vendors. However, I walked away enjoying my experience at this market and looking forward to my next trip there.I went to the farmers market on a mid-morning Saturday afternoon at the beginning of August. There were plenty of beautiful and fresh produce and other goodies to choose from: plenty of peaches, tomatoes, eggplant, and corn to choose from. A vendor or two had delicious Missouri-grown blackberries and blueberries that we sampled and then had to buy, even though I had just bought some Michigan blueberries from the grocery store the other day. And you also had some non-produce items: cinnamon rolls and other pastries, honey sticks, and flowers. The vendors were pleasant and easy to talk to (unlike a handful of merchants at the City Market) and if I asked for a sample they happily obliged. The two downsides of the Parkville Farmers Market are there isn't much there besides the vendors--no musicians or activities for the kids--and the trains passing by the park are loud and annoying.I don't hear too much about the Parkville Farmers Market, which is a shame. It's a great place to get wonderful goodies and produce in the Northland. The next time I'm around Parkville on a Saturday morning or Wednesday afternoon during growing season I will be checking it out.

Having moved here from San Diego, I was used to a large vibrant Farmer's Market that ran year round, so I was a little disappointed my first time at the Parkville version. The market runs from April to the end of October. It's pretty small and there are little frills. Once in awhile, I'll see a performer under the canopy but that's about as good as it gets. There are also very few booths other than the usual farmer booths. One lady does bring her adorable little trailer most Saturdays and uses it as a base for selling handmade items such as table runners and aprons. As much as it might sound like I'm not keen on the market, I actually do appreciate all the fresh produce from local farmers. I buy a lot of tomatoes, green beans, blueberries, strawberries, and other veggies and fruits there. Everything I've ever purchased has been fresh and tasty. Sometimes there's a booth with sausages. They make the best sandwiches! I wish they'd come every week. However, if the sausage sandwich guys aren't there I drown my sorrows with excellent mini-pies from another booth. Bottom line, I love the quality of the goods at this market but do wish it would grow a bit bigger and have a longer season of operation.

I Love the Parkville Farmers market. My wife and I make a point to help local business's continue to thrive and survive in times where corporate america tends to take over. It is kid friendly, parking is free and there is a awesome park right next to where the market is. Vendors are very friendly and willing to answer questions and provide tips on how to use their products if necessary.

Learn from my mistake and request the apples you pick in the container instead of the vendor picking them for you off to the side. You'll get the size and quality you expected when you get home.
